The Allergy and Immunology Clinic at Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH) provides specialized, patient-centered care for individuals with environmental, drug, and food allergies, as well as immunologic conditions. Our team diagnoses and manages conditions including environmental allergies, food allergies, asthma, dermatitis, chronic urticaria, sinus disease, drug allergies, and immunodeficiency disorders using evidence-based clinical practices.

The clinic offers comprehensive diagnostic and therapeutic services, including skin and blood allergy testing, spirometry, allergen immunotherapy, biologic therapies, and specialized desensitization programs. Care is delivered in a supportive outpatient setting by an interdisciplinary team that works collaboratively to ensure safe, high-quality patient care with a strong emphasis on education, prevention, and long-term disease management.

Job Summary

The Nurse Practitioner (NP) is a licensed provider. The NP is responsible for assessing and managing various patient populations, including those with medical and/or surgical conditions, as well as providing diagnostic and therapeutic interventions, developing appropriate plans of care, and conducting ongoing evaluations. May also perform additional duties, such as precepting a small group of learners.

Essential Functions
-Provides direct care, counseling, and education to a designated patient population in ambulatory, inpatient, operative, and/or procedural settings.
-Performs complete histories and physical examinations.
-Orders, interprets, and evaluates appropriate laboratory and diagnostic tests.
-Develops appropriate plans of care and follow-up based on the outcomes of diagnostic, laboratory, and physical examination findings.
-Orders medications and writes prescriptions according to organizational and regulatory policies and procedures.
-Consistently provides high-quality and timely documentation, including admission and progress notes, procedure notes, operative notes, and discharge summaries.
-Performs bedside procedures as are appropriate to the patient population.
