Senior Product Manager, AI at Maersk

About the role

Maersk Fleet Management Technology (FMT) is looking for a Senior Product Manager, AI to lead AI strategy, discovery, and governance across our Fleet, Safety & Resilience, and Asset Management domains.

This role sits within the AI and Analytics Products team — a function alongside FMT's three domain portfolios. You won’t own a single feature backlog or manage engineers directly. Instead, you’ll work through domain product teams and engineering leads to identify, prioritise, and land AI use cases that no single team could deliver alone.. and lead the discovery work that keeps the pipeline healthy. Your impact is measured by what the wider organisation ships, the quality of AI thinking across product teams, and how visibly FMT is moving on AI.

You’ll partner closely with domain Heads of Product, peer PMs, the central AI team, data science, and senior business stakeholders ashore and at sea.

What you’ll do

• Lead AI and workflow automation discovery across the full FMT product portfolio, working directly with operational stakeholders.

• Own the central AI intake and prioritisation process, maintaining a portfolio-wide use case backlog and quarterly prioritisation with domain Heads of Product.

• Embed with product teams to shape AI use cases from problem framing through delivery, coaching PMs on AI-native product thinking (evaluation, human‑in‑the‑loop, agentic patterns, foundation models).

• Co-own the vision and roadmap for an AI-driven self-service analytics platform with the Senior Analytics Manager, data engineering team and broader analysts community within FMT.

• Drive architecture coherence and AI governance across the portfolio in alignment with central AI (evaluation frameworks, MLOps standards, risk and safety review gates).

• Build and sustain the FMT AI community (AI guilds, demos, hackathons, internal & external knowledge sharing).

• Keep stakeholders and FMT LT informed and energised, and tell FMT's AI story well both inside Maersk and at industry forums.

What we’re looking for

• 5+ years in product management, including 2+ years shipping AI/ML products to production at scale.

• Strong, hands-on understanding of Generative and agentic AI, grounded in real delivery (not theory).

• Experience influencing through others: comfortable working with senior stakeholders and leading without formal authority.

• Excellent discovery skills and the ability to simplify complex problems for mixed technical and business audiences.

• Strong written communication and comfort operating in ambiguity.

• Experience from a large enterprise or mature scale-up environment.

• Nice to have: shipping or maritime exposure

Please note this role is based in Copenhagen and we will not be considering candidates that need relocation.
