Country Manager – Customs Operations
About the Role
Belgium is one of our most critical Customs markets, and we are seeking an experienced leader to manage our multi‑site Customs Delivery organization. This role is responsible for day‑to‑day operational excellence, safe and compliant clearances, strong service levels, and effective leadership of team leaders and frontline associates.
You will also play a pivotal role in our transformation journey, supporting major initiatives such as the global IT platform rollout, projects , continuous improvement programs, and employee engagement efforts.
This role carries full P&L responsibility for Customs Delivery in Belgium and requires a leader confident in navigating a complex, fast‑moving operational environment.
Key Responsibilities

Run day‑to‑day customs execution across Belgium

Ensure safe, compliant, and efficient customs clearances.

Maintain high service levels, including turnaround time and accuracy.

Ensure robust operational compliance, including documentation and records retention.

Audit non‑conformities and ensure timely corrective actions.

Lead team leaders and frontline associates.
-
Drive a high‑performance culture with clear goals and accountability.
-
Support the rollout of new global technology platforms and operational standards.
-
Implement SOPs and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance compliance, efficiency, and service quality.

Partner with Area and Global teams to execute on change, process standardization, and capability building.

Own cost‑to‑serve performance for Belgium Customs operations.

Monitor local market developments and adjust operational setup accordingly.
Who We Are Looking For
A strong operational leader who brings:
Experience
-
Background in customs operations or leadership of complex customer service / operational environments.

Proven experience leading multi‑site teams.

Experience with P&L leadership, cost management, and KPI delivery.

Excellent stakeholder management, especially with authorities and logistics partners.

Ability to lead transformation initiatives and embed new ways of working.

A people‑first leader who builds trust, clarity, and engagement.

Comfortable navigating complexity and ambiguity.

Hands‑on, visible, and committed to frontline operational excellence.
