THE WORKProgram Planning – What It Is & Why It Matters
Program planning is the backbone of successful, complex projects. Planners translate strategic goals into detailed, time‑phased schedules, identify risks, and provide the data that leaders need to make informed decisions. Think of it as the “navigation system” for multidisciplinary programs - guiding resources, milestones, and deliverables from concept to completion.
If you have ever coordinated construction timelines, managed curriculum rollouts, planned hospitality events, coordinated healthcare programs, overseen product launches, or synchronized mission‑critical operations, you already practice the core of program planning. This role gives you the chance to sharpen those skills, learn industry leading tools, and grow a career that directly supports national defense and aerospace innovation.
This position will support the Sikorsky Maritime Systems portfolio of programs.
In this exciting role you will:
- Establish and maintain business rhythms for program control, analysis, and forecasting.
- Create, network, and reconcile Integrated Master Schedules (IMS) to enable critical path analysis.
- Compile, input, analyze, and report weekly/monthly status for major program events.
- Update the Integrated Master Plan (IMP) with intermediate milestone status.
- Coordinate with major suppliers to obtain and integrate current schedule data.
- Manage schedule baselines and conduct variance analysis on a weekly/monthly cadence.
- Perform schedule risk assessments using approved risk management tools.
- Prepare and deliver concise briefing materials to senior leadership and customers.
Please Note: Due to program requirements, US Citizenship is required.
