Project Management

We’re looking for a Senior Payments Product Manager who lives and breathes payments, checkout, routing, and UX. If you’ve shipped high-scale payment flows, improved authorization rates, reduced the cost to collect, and obsess over customer-friendly experiences, this role is for you.

You will play a key role in shaping our global payments strategy and ensuring a seamless, efficient, and secure payment ecosystem.

MINDSET

We believe three things matter for every role at Lemonade: drive to push through challenges, efficiency that keeps standards high while moving fast, and adaptability that lets you pivot with data and AI insights. These aren't buzzwords, they're how we actually work.

Our AI-first approach isn't just a tagline either. We're building the future of insurance with AI at the center, and we need people who are genuinely excited to learn and grow alongside these tools.

In this role you'll

  • Own the end-to-end checkout experience: from funnel design, UI/UX, and copy, to error states, SCA/3DS, tokenization, retries, and dunning.

  • Strive to improve authorization rates: optimize routing, 3DS strategy, retries, BIN/issuer tactics, network tokens, and risk signals to lift approval rates.

  • Reduce the cost to pay: minimize processing fees via smart routing, method mix, interchange optimization, and settlement configuration.

  • Drive squad execution: work closely with designers, engineers, and data analysts to ensure fast-paced execution and delivery of payment initiatives.

  • Introduce new payment methods & markets: evaluate, prioritize, and launch new payment methods by country and product line.

  • Drive payments strategy & roadmap: align PSP(s), gateways, risk tools, and internal services with overarching business goals.

  • Own quality & reliability: manage SLAs, monitoring, alerting, reconciliation integrity, refunds/chargebacks flows, and ledger accuracy.

  • Manage data & experimentation: define KPIs, build dashboards, run A/B tests, and partner with Data teams to diagnose drop-offs and optimize performance.

  • Execute through cross-functional leadership: collaborate effectively with Design, Engineering, Finance, Legal/Compliance, Risk/Fraud, Support, and Growth teams.

What you'll need

  • A proven track record of building high-quality products at scale, a must.

  • At least 7 years of experience working as a Product Manager, at least 4 in a successful startup or fast-growing company, a must.

  • Substantial, hands-on experience in payment flows at scale (e.g., checkout, routing, PSPs, tokens, 3DS/SCA, refunds/chargebacks, reconciliation).

  • Solid UX skills with a passion for delighting customers and driving conversion wins.

  • Track record of improving authorization rates and payment economics through data-driven optimization.

  • Proven project management skills while overseeing complex product launches for cross-functional teams.

  • Outstanding communication skills, including the ability to present findings and recommendations clearly and effectively to stakeholders.

  • Experience leading small, agile teams.

  • Superior attention to detail, coupled with an eye for the big picture.

  • A curious individual who reads constantly and loves to pass on their knowledge to others.

  • Ability to work in an office environment a minimum of 3 days a week.

  • Enthusiasm about learning and adapting to the exciting world of AI – a commitment to exploring this field is a fundamental part of our culture.
