Do Work That Matters

Leidos Australia delivers IT and airborne solutions that protect and advance the Australian way of life. Our 2000 local experts, backed by our global experience and network of partners, are working to solve the world’s toughest challenges in government, intelligence, defence, aviation, border protection and health markets.

Your New Role and Responsibilities

As a Project Support Officer, you will provide professional project support services across a program of work. Working under general direction, you will enable the effective delivery of the program by applying established project management frameworks, standards, and controls.

You will be responsible for coordinating project governance activities, maintaining project documentation, supporting reporting and assurance processes, and proactively engaging with project stakeholders. The role requires sound judgement, strong organisational skills, and the ability to influence outcomes through effective communication and collaboration.

This position is suited to an experienced project support professional who can operate with a degree of autonomy while contributing to continuous improvement of project management practices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day project support across initiation, planning, delivery, and closure phases.

  • Develop, maintain, and quality‑control project management artefacts, including plans and schedules, risk/issue/dependency registers, financial reports, and status and governance packs.

  • Coordinate project governance and assurance activities by supporting boards and working groups, preparing agendas, papers, minutes, action registers, and tracking actions and decisions to completion.

  • Monitor and report on project performance, milestones, risks, and issues, supporting change control, configuration management, and compliance with organisational, contractual, and security requirements.

  • Coordinate project resources, onboarding and access requirements, act as a central point of contact for project information, contribute to continuous improvement, and build effective stakeholder relationships.

About You and What You'll Bring

  • Proven experience in a Project Support Officer, Project Coordinator, or similar role supporting ICT or business projects, with experience managing project controls, registers, and documentation accurately.

  • Sound understanding of project management principles, frameworks, and governance, with the ability to apply them in practice.

  • Strong organisational and time‑management skills, enabling effective management of competing priorities under minimal supervision.

  • Well‑developed written and verbal communication skills, with confidence engaging and influencing stakeholders at varying levels and preparing reports and governance documentation.

  • Strong capability in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), experience with project tracking and collaboration tools, including Jira and Confluence (or similar), and a proactive, solutions‑focused mindset with a commitment to quality outcomes.

This role does require the successful applicant to be an Australian Citizen and hold a minimum TSPV level security clearance.
