We’re now looking for a Technical Project Engineer who thrives at the intersection of design, commissioning, and delivery, and who wants hands‑on exposure to technically complex projects that truly matter.
What is the focus of this role?
As a Project Engineer, you’ll play a pivotal technical role within the Project engineering Team, working closely with the Project Manager to own and deliver the technical outcomes of Data centres projects.
Your core focus will be design and commissioning, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, and to Schneider Electric’s high technical and customer standards.
You’ll contribute across the full project lifecycle while helping deliver One Schneider solutions for customers across Australia and New Zealand, predominantly along the east coast.
This is an ideal role for an engineer who wants to deepen their technical expertise while gaining exposure to project execution, stakeholder management, and commercial outcomes.
What you’ll be responsible for Assist with design and commissioning activities, ensuring compliance with specifications, standards, and customer requirements Act as the technical interface between sales, engineering team and customers in line with the regional business strategy Provide hands‑on technical expertise during project planning, execution, and close‑out Support Project Manager in coordinating small project teams, including internal specialists and external contractors Ensure technical deliverables align with project scope, schedule, and performance objectives Help deliver projects in line with the Schneider Electric Customer Project Process Maintain a strong focus on customer satisfaction, supporting positive client outcomes at every stage Support management of project schedules, resources, and technical risks You’ll be a visible and valued member of the Project Team participating in team meetings, one‑on‑ones, and project financial reviews.
What you’ll bring Qualification in Electrical and/or University degree (Engineering or related discipline), or equivalent practical experience 3-5 years’ engineering experience, ideally within data centres or mission‑critical environments
Experience: supporting design and commissioning in a technical services or construction environment Background in engineering, technology, or data centre construction projects highly regarded Chartered Engineer (CPEng) status or willingness to obtain certification within the eligible timeframe Proactive in identifying risks, resolving issues, and driving outcomes Advanced skills in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio) and Microsoft Project or equivalent scheduling tools Why Schneider Electric?
