The Manufacturing Engineering Manager leads technical teams to optimize production, managing daily operations, lean initiatives, and capital budgets. They oversee process improvements, ensure quality compliance (APQP/PPAP), and bridge the gap between design and production. Makes significant improvements in processes, systems, or products. Establishes short-term operational plans with measurable contribution to function or business area results.

Essential Functions:

  • Team Leadership:

Lead, mentor, and evaluate a team of manufacturing engineers and technicians.

  • Process Improvement:

Drive, develop, and implement manufacturing processes, tooling, and technologies to improve efficiency.

  • Project Management:

Manage a portfolio of projects, including timelines, capital budgets, and resource allocation.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration:

Collaborate with quality, supply chain, and design engineering (Design for Manufacturability

  • DFM) to ensure seamless production.
  • Compliance & Safety:

Ensure adherence to safety regulations, quality standards, and company policies.

  • Technical Support:

Provide technical direction and troubleshoot issues in manufacturing/assembly lines.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 9 years prior related experience. Graduate Degree with a minimum of 7 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 13 years of prior related experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering.
  • 6+ years of experience in manufacturing, with demonstrated leadership experience.
  • Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement tools.
  • Proficiency in CAD tools (AutoCAD, Creo) and manufacturing software (PDM, MES).

In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in California is $116,500- $216,500. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location. L3Harris also offers a variety of benefits, including health and disability insurance, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, EAP, education assistance, parental leave, paid time off, and company-paid holidays. The specific programs and options available to an employee may vary depending on date of hire, schedule type, and the applicability of collective bargaining agreements.
