Job Title: Planner – Sub-Contracting
Division: Open Manufacturing
Location: Clark, NJ
Reports To: Sr. Manager – Contract Manufacturing
Who We Are:
For more than a century, L’Oréal has devoted its energy, innovation, and scientific excellence solely to one business: Beauty. Our goal is to offer each and every person around the world the best of beauty in terms of quality, efficacy, safety, sincerity and responsibility to satisfy all beauty needs and desires in their infinite diversity.
What You Will Do:
As a Hybrid Supply & Contract Manufacturing Planner, you will be responsible for the end-to-end orchestration of finished good feasibility and component availability to service the monthly production plan. You will work in close collaboration with internal and external partners to establish realistic short- and long-term plans that balance demand with operational constraints. Acting as a strategic lead, you will support contract manufacturers in all supply chain functions—including inventory management, supply chain mapping, and performance reviews—while proactively challenging root causes to ensure agility goals and internal KPIs are consistently met.
Key Job Accountabilities:
- Demonstrate the agility to manage either the component portfolio or sub-contracting production plans (or a blend of both) based on the current supply chain landscape and departmental priorities.
- Evaluate constraints and summarize plan feasibilities for Master Schedulers, providing solutions for bottlenecks whether they occur in raw material supply or external manufacturing capacity.
- Implement and maintain strategic supply chain agreements with suppliers, including material release protocols and inventory management strategies (VMI, JIT) across assigned categories.
- Review Material Requirements Planning (MRP) and action messages to initiate requirements. Maintain a rolling 12-month visibility while focusing on the critical 1-to-6-month execution window.
- Take accountability for inventory health (DOS and E&O) for your assigned area. Perform monthly root-cause analyses on excess stock and propose actionable follow-throughs to optimize working capital.
- Manage and audit critical SAP/ERP parameters (lot sizes, lead times, safety stocks, and procurement types) to ensure the system accurately reflects the needs of both component and sub-contracting flows.
- Execute the full procurement lifecycle: placing orders, verifying deliveries, and managing all required documentation (COAs, Packing Lists, etc.) for both raw components and finished goods.
- Execute Bill of Materials (BOM) accurately and manage the return-to-vendor process for any quality issues discovered during the production or receiving cycle.
- Act as the primary liaison between internal support groups (Quality, Finance, Purchasing, R&D) and external vendors to ensure the production plan and sub-contracting schedules are met.
- Develop logistics requirements and supply chain maps with suppliers to improve lead times and delivery reliability.
What We Are Looking For:
- BA/BS degree, preferably in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business or a related discipline
- 1-2 yrs CPG related industry planning.
- Intermediate to advanced data analytic skills, specifically in Microsoft Excel
- Intermediate to advanced skills in SAP and/or MRP preferred.
- Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to lead and influence functional groups.
- Ability to influence, solve problems effectively within a team environment, and demonstrate resiliency.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet commitments.
- Self-motivated and results oriented.
What’s In It For You:
- Salary Range: $65,400 – $91,500 (The actual compensation will depend on a variety of job-related factors which may include geographic location, work experience, education, and skill level)
- Competitive Benefit Package (Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K, Pension Plan)
- Flexible Time Off (Paid Company Holidays, Paid Vacation, Vacation Buy Program, Volunteer Time, Summer Fridays & More!)
- Access to Company Perks (VIP Access to L’Oréal’s Internal Shop for Discounted Products, Monthly Mobile Allowance)
- Learning & Development Opportunities (Unlimited Access to E-learnings, Lunch & Learn Sessions, Mentorship Programs, & More!)
- Employee Resource Groups (Think Tanks and Innovation Squads)
- Access to Mental Health & Wellness Programs
