We are seeking a meticulous and talented Chemist to join our Analytical Chemistry Raw Materials team in our Clark, New Jersey R&I Site. In this role, you will be responsible for the comprehensive analysis of raw materials, ensuring that every ingredient meets our strict quality, safety, and sensory specifications. You will work with a diverse range of advanced analytical techniques and instrumentation, playing a vital role in the integrity and success of our product formulations.
A Day in the Life:
As a Chemist in Analytical Chemistry Raw Materials, your responsibilities will include:-Analytical Testing: Conduct comprehensive analysis of raw materials utilizing a diverse range of techniques, including Liquid Chromatography (HPLC), Gas Chromatography (GC), FTIR, and wet chemistry (pH, Viscosity, Specific Gravity, Potentiometric Titrations, Karl Fischer, and TLC).
- Sensory Evaluation: Perform specialized olfactive analysis of fragrances and essential oils to ensure all raw materials meet strict quality control and sensory specifications.
- Method Execution: Strictly apply and adhere to existing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and validated test methods to ensure consistency and accuracy in all analytical outputs.
- Data Synthesis & Reporting: Collect, process, and interpret complex data sets. Derive scientifically sound conclusions and author detailed technical reports to communicate findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Investigation & Troubleshooting: Lead root cause analysis (RCA) for non-conformance events or out-of-specification (OOS) results related to laboratory testing and instrumentation.
- Project Management: Proactively communicate testing statuses and project milestones to management. Demonstrate agility by adapting to changing priorities, delays, or unexpected technical challenges to ensure on-time delivery.
- Compliance & Safety: Maintain rigorous adherence to site-specific safety guidelines and quality compliance standards. Ensure the organization and cleanliness of personal and shared laboratory workspaces.
We Are Looking For: You’re a great match for this role if you have a high level of organizational discipline and a passion for analytical excellence in a fast-paced environment.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or a closely related scientific discipline is required.
- Experience: 1–3 years of professional post-graduate experience in an analytical or Quality Control (QC) laboratory environment.
- Technical Expertise: Strong working knowledge of wet chemistry and physical testing (Auto-titrators, FT-IR, Karl Fischer, etc.).
- Experience with HPLC and GC instrumentation and software is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in olfactive/sensory analysis.
- Software Proficiency: Familiarity with chromatography data systems (e.g., Empower), Electronic Lab Notebooks (ELN), and Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) is preferred.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Professional Skills: Excellent bench skills with a high level of organizational discipline.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proven ability to work independently while contributing effectively to a team-oriented environment.
- Demonstrated capability to manage multiple projects simultaneously under tight deadlines.
- The ability to lift 25 lbs (11.3 kg) (required)
- The ability to be onsite, in the office/laboratory at least 4 days a week, as this is an essential function of the position (required)
- Authorization to work in the United States on a full-time, permanent, ongoing basis without the need for legal sponsorship now or in the future (required)

- Base Salary Range: $65,400 - $91,500 (The actual compensation will depend on a variety of job-related factors which may include geographic location, work experience, education, and skill level)
