Job Summary:
The Order Processing Junior Supply Chain Specialist ensures the efficient daily operation of their assigned area, focusing on managing customer orders, leading warehouse associates, implementing action plans, and maintaining a productive and positive work environment. This role requires strong leadership skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to L'Oréal’s values of innovation, sustainability, and consumer focus.
What You Will Do:
Labor Management:
· Supervise Daily Warehouse Operations: Provide direct supervision to warehouse associates, ensuring a safe, clean, and efficient warehouse environment. This includes actively monitoring adherence to safety regulations, maintaining cleanliness standards specific to cosmetic product handling, and addressing performance issues promptly.
· Optimize Work Schedules and Assignments: Develop, implement, and adjust work schedules and assignments to maximize team productivity and meet fluctuating order
demands. This involves analyzing workload, prioritizing tasks, and balancing individual skillsets to achieve optimal efficiency.
· Manage Temporary Labor: Schedule and oversee temporary labor based on production needs and budget considerations. This requires accurate forecasting of workload fluctuations and effective onboarding and management of temporary staff.
· Facilitate Comprehensive Training: Organize and conduct necessary training for warehouse associates on all aspects of production, including standard operating procedures, safety protocols, equipment use (including PIT), and quality control. This also involves maintaining accurate training records and ensuring compliance with L'Oréal's training requirements.
Operations:
· Oversee Assigned Area: Direct and supervise activities within the designated area of the distribution facility, including assigning tasks, leading execution, monitoring progress, and troubleshooting issues. This encompasses maintaining organization, ensuring workflow efficiency, and fostering a positive work environment.
· Maintain 5S Program: Ensure adherence to the 5S methodology (Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain) to maintain a clean, organized, and efficient workspace. This includes conducting regular audits, addressing non-compliance, and leading continuous improvement initiatives suggested by team members.
· Lead Daily Huddles: Conduct daily team meetings to review key performance indicators (KPIs), discuss previous day's performance, communicate upcoming tasks, and address any challenges or concerns. This fosters open communication, promotes teamwork, and ensures alignment with operational goals.
· Manage Workload Demand: Understand current and short-term future workload demands and collaborate with supervisors and managers to ensure adequate resource allocation and timely fulfillment of customer orders. This involves analyzing data, forecasting needs, and proactively addressing potential bottlenecks.
· Ensure Compliance with Regulations: Enforce strict adherence to all OSHA and Environmental Health and Safety regulations. This includes conducting regular safety inspections, providing necessary safety equipment, and training employees on safety procedures to maintain a safe and compliant work environment.
· Support Employee Development: Participate in the performance review process, support the development of improvement plans for employees, and mentor team members to foster professional growth and career advancement within L'Oréal. This involves providing regular feedback, identifying training needs, and creating opportunities for skill development.
· Drive Continuous Improvement: Utilize Lean principles and the Learning Management System (LMS) to identify areas for improvement and implement solutions to enhance warehouse processes, efficiency, and overall performance. This includes encouraging innovation, fostering a culture of continuous learning, and actively seeking opportunities to optimize operations.
· Time Attendance: Utilize UKG to approve timecards for payroll. Approve and track time off requests. Ensure adherence to the attendance and all L’Oreal policies.
Required & Preferred Experience/Training:
· Demonstrated responsible work habits, good judgment, decision-making ability, self-motivation, and attention to detail.
· College Degree of 4 years.
· 1-3 years of experience in a distribution/supply chain environment preferred.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and RF scanning equipment preferred.
· Haz Mat and Forklift experience preferred; L'Oréal forklift certification required.
· RCRA (Resource Conservation and Recovery Act) Haz Mat Training required.
· Experience with Continuous Improvement methodologies preferred.
· Working knowledge of WMS (Manhattan) preferred.
Working Conditions:
· 8-hour standard working day, M – F (Varies depending on customer demand)
· Overtime can be expected during peak seasons based on business needs to increase standard shift time to 10 hours, plus working weekends
· Personal protective equipment required including safety glasses, gloves, steel-toed shoes and vest; other equipment provided dependent upon role
· Able to bend, twist and lift up to 38lbs using proper lifting techniques
