Group/Division
The KLA Services team headquartered in Milpitas, CA is our service organization that consists of Service Sales and Marketing, Spares Supply Chain management, Field Operations, Engineering, Product Training, and Technical Support. The KLA Services organization partners with our field teams and customers in all business sectors to maintain the high performance and productivity of our products through a flexible portfolio of services. Our comprehensive services include: proactive management of tools to identify and improve performance; expertise in optics, image processing and motion control with worldwide service engineers, 24/7 technical support teams and knowledge management systems; and an extensive parts network to ensure worldwide availability of parts.
Job Description/Preferred Qualifications
Job Responsibilities:

As a Service Product Engineer, you play a key role in improving KLA's sophisticated semiconductor systems, and the service teams that support them. By collaborating with the product engineering and service teams worldwide, you will gain systems-engineering level knowledge of a highly complex, groundbreaking system. This system includes E-Beam, optics, electronics, motion control, mechanical components, custom software and algorithms.
In this role, you will:

Play a large role in assessing products with respect to design for reliability, stability, and serviceability.

Participate in and track the development and testing of system diagnostics and spec validation.

Act as a two-way conduit for information transfer between the engineers responsible for developing our products and the field service teams responsible for product maintenance and support.

Help develop and detail technical service procedures.
-
Take a proactive approach to improving service quality and profitability.
-
Capture and analyze data from systems populations residing in customer sites to track performance and identify sources of detailed issues on technical, process, and people basis.

Respond to situations where field service engineers have failed to resolve highly technical system performance issues, by providing written plans of action by e-mail or on-site hands-on assistance in the cleanroom at the customer sites.

Lead preparation and execution of high-complexity system activities in the cleanroom.

Write technical reports to communicate (progression in) issues, analysis, technical assessments, system status, best-know-methods, and engineering recommendations.

Develop new training materials which may include written documents, video tutorials and on-line web based training.

This position includes the occasional weekend shift on need basis and 20% travel internationally.
Preferred Qualifications:

Proven track record to work on sophisticated problems where analysis of situations or data requires an in depth evaluation of various factors.

Results oriented and driven to excel.

Enjoys teaching, troubleshooting, working with groups of people, and explaining sophisticated things as simply as possible.

Strong analytic and data analysis skills. Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Ability to work efficiently in multidisciplinary, multicultural teams and to take a leadership role when needed.

Quick grasp of meaningful, sophisticated technical information.

Natural curiosity, inventiveness, and an interest in making things work better.

Diverse Background to bring new perspectives to the team.

Semiconductor industry experience with specialization in E-beam, Vacuum or, Motion Control

Familiar with reliability concepts; probability distribution, MTBF, MTTR, etc
Minimum Qualifications
Doctorate (Academic) Degree and 0 years related work experience; Master's Level Degree and related work experience of 3 years; Bachelor's Level Degree and related work experience of 5 years
