Job Description: Pre-Sales Channel Systems Engineer – HPE Networking About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Pre-Sales Channel Engineer to support the continued growth of our HPE Networking practice, including Aruba and Juniper Networks solutions. This role is designed for a seasoned networking professional who is ready to expand their impact beyond implementation and into strategic partner enablement and technical sales leadership.
In this position, you will collaborate closely with one of our key National Partners and Partner Account Managers to drive technical excellence, strengthen partner capabilities, and accelerate the adoption of HPE’s advanced networking portfolio. You will serve as a trusted technical advisor, helping your partner design, position, and deliver modern networking solutions that enable digital transformation for their customers.
Key Responsibilities: Technical Solution Expertise
- Develop and maintain deep technical knowledge across the entire HPE Networking portfolio, including Aruba and Juniper technologies such as wireless, switching, routing, SD-WAN, network security, Clear Pass, Mist & Central cloud management, Apstra & data center networking, and automation.
- Act as a subject matter expert and trusted advisor.
Partner Enablement & Technical Sales Support
- Enable this national partner through technical training, workshops, and hands-on guidance to improve discovery, solution design, competitive positioning, and value prop articulation.
- Support this national partner in identifying and qualifying opportunities, developing solution architectures, and demonstrating the business benefits of HPE networking technologies.
- Assist in delivering compelling demonstrations, proof-of-concepts (POCs), and technical presentations.
Teach Solution Design & Validation
- How to design scalable, reliable, and cost-effective solutions that align with customer requirements and technical constraints.
- How to develop Bills of Materials (BOMs), configurations, and reference architectures that meet performance and budget objectives.
Pre-Sales Execution
- Provide technical assistance with SKUs, licensing, demonstration equipment, lab environments, and escalations to technical support (TAC) when required.
- Collaborate with sales teams to ensure technical accuracy and successful deal execution.
Continuous Development
- Participate in advanced training, certifications, and professional development programs to maintain industry and vendor expertise.
- Stay current on emerging networking trends including automation, AI-driven operations, and cloud-managed infrastructure.
Required Qualifications Experience
- 7+ years of experience in networking infrastructure, engineering, or technical consulting roles
- Prior experience in a pre-sales, systems engineering, or technical account support capacity preferred
- Background in network design, deployment, services, or technical enablement strongly desired
Technical Skills
- Strong understanding of network architecture and design principles
- Hands-on experience with wireless networking, switching, routing, firewalls, NAC, SD-WAN, data center networking, and cloud management platforms
- Ability to design and present end-to-end solutions
Professional Skills
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a partner-driven sales environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting partners who focus in all major B2B customer segments, including but not limited to commercial, SLED and Enterprise customers.
- Exposure to network automation, AI-driven operations, and cloud-native networking technologies
- Relevant vendor certifications (Aruba, Juniper, or similar)

The expected salary/wage range for this position is provided below. Actual offer may vary from this range based upon geographic location, work experience, education/training, and/or skill level.
– United States of America: Annual Salary USD 120,500 - 284,000 in Illinois & Missouri
This range reflects the minimum to maximum combined base and target-level sales compensation that would be paid if the hire performs at 100% of their sales plan. Of that on-target pay amount, the mix of base salary and target-level sales compensation is 75%/25%.
