The Firmwide Resiliency Office (FRO), part of the Office of the Chief Finance Officer, is responsible for designing the firm's resiliency strategy. This includes resiliency planning, testing, exercising, reporting, and product and concern management. The team consists of technical product, data, and analytics professionals who support business resiliency. FRO collaborates closely with senior leadership, lines of business, functional resiliency teams, and key functions such as control management, risk management and compliance, and audit to ensure the resiliency program aligns with the firm's risk profile. Additionally, the team provides corporate governance, awareness, and training.
Job Summary:
As a Data Management Associate within the Firmwide Resiliency Office, you will drive data strategies that support business objectives and operational efficiency. You will work with cross-functional teams to define and prioritize data product backlogs, automate data workflows, and deliver actionable insights through advanced analytics and visualization tools. Your responsibilities will include implementing and enhancing data governance frameworks, ensuring data quality, and managing JIRA tickets and epics using Agile methodologies. Leveraging your expertise in SQL, data transformation, and business intelligence, you will support data-driven decision-making while maintaining data integrity, privacy, and security.
Job responsibilities
- Define and prioritize the data product backlog by gathering and analyzing business requirements to ensure alignment with organizational goals.
- Collect, organize, and analyze data to support strategic decision-making and deliver actionable business insights.
- Extract, transform, and load (ETL) data from multiple sources, ensuring data accuracy and consistency through effective cleaning and preprocessing.
- Develop and automate data collection, processing, and reporting workflows to improve operational efficiency.
- Perform exploratory data analysis and apply statistical methods to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities for business improvement.
- Create and maintain interactive dashboards, reports, and presentations to communicate findings and recommendations to stakeholders.
- Lead the implementation and continuous enhancement of the data governance framework, including data quality, data confidence, and data lineage.
- Document, maintain, and periodically update data governance processes, policies, and procedures.
- Write and manage JIRA tickets, epics, and user stories to track requirements, progress, and deliverables, ensuring transparency and accountability.
- Apply Agile methodologies to manage project workflows, facilitate sprint planning, and drive the timely delivery of data solutions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, technology partners, and business stakeholders to ensure data integrity, privacy, and security, while staying updated on industry trends and best practices.
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- 5+ years of relevant experience in data management, data analysis, or software engineering within a corporate environment.
- Demonstrated experience in data analysis, business intelligence, or similar roles.
- Advanced proficiency in SQL and data transformation tools, with a strong understanding of database concepts and data warehousing principles.
- Familiarity with data management and reference data concepts.
- Strong data wrangling skills, including data ingestion, transformation, manipulation, aggregation, and reconciliation.
- Proven ability to perform data mining, identify insights and anomalies, and ensure data lineage and data quality.
- Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI.
- Proficiency in Agile methodologies and tools, including JIRA, JIRA Portfolio, and Confluence, with experience writing and managing user stories and epics.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and attention-to-detail skills, along with strong communication and presentation abilities.
- Collaborative team player with the ability to work independently and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
