The Market Data Application Support Analyst is a technical role focused on supporting market data applications and data feeds. The team operates as a cross-business technology unit, collaborating with counterparts in APAC, EMEA, and NA through a follow-the-sun model. The role emphasizes issue resolution, process sharing, and product rollouts, supporting all lines of business across various asset classes.
The Market Data Desktop team are responsible for managing approximately ~ 70 third party off the shelf market data desktop applications (e.g., Bloomberg, LSEG Workspace, Fact Set, QUICK) and plays an important role as a Product Owner which includes Applications Ownership, software packaging and deployment. Japan has around 20 specific applications to the location.
Managing and coordinating local infrastructure/applications in Japan. The primary objective of this position is vendor management at a local and regional level providing second/third level support for third party applications under MDS management. Basic understanding of windows desktop environment and connectivity to our business partners are required.
A strong ability to work on market data projects is a must, as daily tasks and projects will require a clear understanding on how trading systems and exchanges interact with data upstream/downstream.
The ideal candidate will be self-motivated and an innovative thinker with a strong focus on quality of delivery and a continuous focus on improving existing processes, procedures, and applications. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work as part of a distributed team are also key requirements.
Key Responsibilities

Provide 2nd/3rd line support for core Market Data services/applications, including Open Bloomberg, LSEG Workspace, Fact Set, QUICK, and others.

Offer technical support for a wide range of broker and trading applications.

Coordinate vendor software packaging, including scripting, QA testing, and production release.

Proactively monitor the environment, manage changes, and deliver small to medium-sized projects.

Participate in reviewing hygiene metrics and processes for continuous improvement.

Manage daily operations, incident resolution, and change management activities.

Collaborate with plan/build teams for smooth transitions from project to business as usual.

Work with vendors to drive technical strategy and application delivery.

Maintain a resilient and secure environment by following security best practices and addressing risks promptly.
Essential Requirements

Proficiency in TCP/IP and connectivity troubleshooting.

Strong communication skills for interaction with traders, support teams; business partners such as vendors, venues, and exchanges.

Experience in technical troubleshooting and managing high-profile issues.

Knowledge of scripting languages like PowerShell and visual basic.

Familiarity with change management structures and problem ticketing systems.

Strong documentation skills and a commitment to knowledge management.

Self-motivated, customer-focused, and innovative with excellent time management skills.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team, prioritizing workflow under pressure.

Familiarity with supporting applications on windows virtual desktop environments and streaming platforms.

Fluent in Japanese (written and speaking) is a must.
