Marketing & Communications – Vice President
J.P. Morgan is seeking an energetic, motivated, and experienced communications professional with a proven ability to produce high‑quality content and manage end‑to‑end communications to join the Communications team supporting our Corporate & Investment Bank (CIB) in Japan.
As a Communications Manager, you will play a crucial role in developing, promoting, and measuring key priorities for the business in Japan, ensuring that our stakeholders and employees remain informed and engaged with our business strategy, priorities, and culture. Reporting to the Head of Communications, Japan, you will be offered a unique opportunity to shape our communications strategy and engage diverse audiences, both internally and externally. Working in support of the business heads and other senior executives, you will bring a creative approach to communications, balanced with an analytical mindset to advise and influence.
Job Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a proactive internal communications, executive communications, and media relations for key lines of business in Japan.
- Develop and write high quality, compelling content—including newsletters, town halls, organizational announcements, executive speeches, thought leadership, and internal articles—for a broad range of channels, including events, marketing and social media.
- Create and manage employee events for local and international leaders, ensuring on message content and flawless execution.
- Manage multiple stakeholders and partner effectively within a regional team and across business and corporate functions.
- Provide sound counsel and guidance to senior executives and stakeholders on communications related matters, and ensure consistent messaging aligned with the broader communications strategy.
- Manage communications projects and initiatives from beginning to end.
- Collaborate and partner with Global/APAC CIB Communications colleagues to understand goals and assist in implementing communications strategies.
- Support media relations activities and manage media inquiries.
- Support issue management.
- Conceptualize, develop, and deliver communications initiatives aligned with business objectives for both internal and external audiences.
Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills
- Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in corporate communications, especially in internal and executive communications.
- Proven ability to lead, influence, and align across cross‑functional teams while interacting with multiple stakeholders.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multitask, prioritize high‑priority initiatives, and balance multiple projects.
- Proven experience in building and managing relationships with senior executives, key stakeholders, and the media.
- Experience creating content in the financial industry.
- Strong team player who celebrates collective success.
- Highly responsive, with the ability to deliver under tight deadlines.
- Ability to work independently and to partner with and manage multiple stakeholders.
- Good knowledge of different channels and platforms to deliver content effectively to targeted audiences, whether internal or external.
- Excellent communication skills in Japanese and English, both verbal and written.
Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills
- BA/BS degree in Communications, Marketing or Journalism preferred.
- Understanding of the financial services industry.
- Strong knowledge of corporate internal and employee communications strategies, best practices, implementation and execution.
- Expertise in Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Additional software skills (Adobe, Acrobat Professional, Photoshop, HTML) a plus.
