DESCRIPTION:

Duties: Design, develop and implement software solutions using Java/J2EE technologies. Solve business problems through innovation and engineering practices. Involved in all aspects of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) including analyzing requirements, incorporating architectural standards into application design specifications, documenting application specifications, translating technical requirements into programmed application modules, and developing or enhancing software application modules. Identify or troubleshoot application code-related issues. Take active role in code reviews to ensure solutions are aligned to pre-defined architectural specifications. Assist with design reviews by recommending ways to incorporate requirements into designs and information or data flows. Participate in project planning sessions with project managers, business analysts, and team members to analyze business requirements and outline proposed solutions. Provide guidance to immediate team of software engineers on daily tasks and activities. Set the overall guidance and expectations for team output, practices, and collaboration.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum education and experience required: Master's degree in Information Technology & Management, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field of study plus 5 years of experience in the job offered or as Software Engineer, Software Developer, IT Consultant, or related occupation. The employer will alternatively accept a Bachelor's degree in Information Technology & Management, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field of study plus 7 years of experience in the job offered or as Software Engineer, Software Developer, IT Consultant, or related occupation.

Skills Required: This position requires five (5) years of experience with the following: developing information technology applications throughout the entire development lifecycle; Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) principles; RDBMS; Mock Testing Frameworks including Easy Mock and Mockito. This position requires three (3) years of experience with the following: testing frameworks such as Cucumber or Junit. This position requires two (2) years of experience with the following: AWS. This position requires any amount of experience with the following: developing Java web applications, including performing client interaction, validating requirements, system design and frontend and U development; Interacting with Java EE application servers and web services; Utilizing various Java EE APIs, development builds, application deployments, integration and enterprise testing, and supporting applications within a production environment; Java and J2EE including programming the language and core API's, web services, multi-threaded and concurrent programming, XML, design patterns, and Service Oriented Architecture; Implementing Micro services using Spring Boot and Event Driven architecture; Developing REST, JSON, and XML Web APIs; Web Sphere and Tomcat; Using SQL and Oracle, Cassandra, and Hbase databases; Java performance tuning, debugging, and Profiling Tools including Jmeter, Eclipse, and RAD; planning, designing, testing, debugging, and deploying software solutions for managing infrastructure; performing project management, capacity planning, and operational efficiencies; analyzing infrastructure problems and constraints, inefficiencies, process gaps, risk and regulatory issues, and engineering software or automation solutions; collaborating with infrastructure engineers and architects to understand and identify operational improvements; and writing code and employing design patterns.
