Intuit is transforming into an open, trusted, and easy-to-build platform where we and other partners solve the most pressing customer problems and deliver awesome experiences. Our AI-driven expert platform strategy is driving strong momentum and accelerating innovation. Central to this strategy is a robust, reliable, and scalable platform infrastructure that enables development velocity for thousands of engineers across Intuit.
The Platform Development Experience (PDX) organization builds foundational capabilities that developers use to build and run Intuit's flagship applications and ecosystems. We're looking for an experienced platform product leader who is passionate about infrastructure, operational excellence, and enabling developer productivity at scale. This leader will bring deep technical acumen combined with customer-obsessed thinking to ensure our platform capabilities are reliable, performant, and easy to adopt.
Scope
Core Platform Infrastructure:
-
IKS (Intuit Kubernetes Service): Intuit's enterprise Kubernetes platform serving thousands of workloads across the company. You will drive the product strategy for container orchestration, cluster management, and platform capabilities that enable teams to deploy and scale applications reliably.
-
Traffic Management: Platform capabilities for service mesh, load balancing, ingress/egress, and network policies that ensure reliable, secure, and performant communication across Intuit's distributed systems.
-
Cloud Workspaces: Developer environments and tooling that accelerate the inner loop for Intuit engineers, including cloud-based development environments, local development tools, and 'Done For You' (DFY) platform capabilities.
Operational Excellence
-
Observability: Platform capabilities for metrics, logging, tracing, and alerting that give teams visibility into system health and performance. Drive strategy for unified observability across Intuit's platform.
-
Incident Management: Capabilities and processes for detecting, responding to, and recovering from production incidents. Partner with SRE teams to continuously improve incident response and reduce MTTR.
Safety Engineering: Platform guardrails, compliance automation, and safety controls that enable teams to move fast while maintaining security and reliability standards.
Responsibilities
-
Define and lead the vision and strategy for Core Platform and Operational Excellence, setting a multi-year roadmap aligned with Intuit's platform strategy and AI-driven transformation
-
Grow and develop a high-performing, diverse team of ~25-30 people; attract, grow, and retain excellent PM and XD talent across multiple M3 managers
-
Partner deeply with PD (Platform Development) engineering leaders to drive platform reliability, performance, and adoption metrics
-
Take a data-driven approach to prioritizing platform investments, balancing foundational infrastructure work with customer-facing capabilities
-
Drive platform adoption across Intuit, working with BU engineering teams to understand their needs and ensure platform capabilities meet their requirements
-
Champion operational rigor and reliability culture, ensuring the platform teams practice what they preach on observability, incident management, and safety
-
Represent platform capabilities to Intuit senior leadership, translating technical investments into business value and advocating for strategic platform investments
-
Build strong partnerships with adjacent platform teams (Identity, Data Platform, AI Foundations) to ensure coherent platform experience
Qualifications
Must Have:
-
12+ years in product management or technical program leadership, with significant experience in platform/infrastructure products
-
5+ years leading platform PM teams, including experience managing managers (M3+ leaders)
-
Deep technical acumen in cloud infrastructure: Kubernetes, container orchestration, service mesh, observability tools (metrics, logging, tracing)
-
Experience with large-scale distributed systems and the operational challenges they present
-
Track record of driving platform adoption across a large engineering organization (1000+ engineers)
-
Excellent people management skills to build, inspire, and coach a high-performing team and lead effectively in a matrix organization
-
Strong collaboration and communication skills - ability to translate technical platform concepts for business stakeholders
-
Undergraduate degree in computer science, engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
Nice to Have:
-
Experience with Kubernetes at scale (multi-cluster, multi-tenant environments)
-
Background in SRE, DevOps, or infrastructure engineering
-
Experience with cloud providers (AWS, Azure, GCP) and hybrid/multi-cloud strategies
