Overview

*This role involves supporting Food Storm’s Order Management software platform, focusing on full-stack software and database development to build and enhance product functionality. As a Software Engineer II, you will play a critical role in enhancing our services, solving technical challenges, and directly impacting our customers' experience by maintaining the highest standards of our software solutions. *

Food Storm, originally an Australian startup was acquired by Instacart 3 years ago which IPOed in 2024.

About the Job

• Identify, diagnose, and resolve bugs/issues in collaboration with the support team

• Develop full stack software and database enhancements to introduce new product functionality

• Maintain standards for security, code integrity, and system documentation as per company protocols

• Collaborate closely with the Engineering Manager, Senior Engineers and Product Managers to size and deliver software projects efficiently

• Actively participate in continuous process improvement to enhance product quality and address common customer complaints

• Engage consistently in team rituals and product development processes to ensure alignment and contribute to team goals

• Participate in On-call support activities.

About You

Minimum Qualifications

• 4 years + proven experience in Web Application Development

• *4 years + Proficiency in Microsoft .NET, C#*4 years + Skilled in Microsoft SQL Server (SQL Azure preferred), including T-SQL, Tables, Views, and Stored Procedures

• *Familiarity with cloud-based services, ideally the Azure Platform.*Exposure to front-end frameworks including React

• Experience writing and maintaining front and backend unit tests

**Demonstrated capability in building security-centric software with a strong understanding of security practices including OWASP

• Ability to work autonomously and be accountable for delivery of features and projects

• *Able to regularly communicate the status of features to your team/manager, emphasizing blockers and risks,**Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with effective time management abilities.*Able to remove blockers independently

Instacart provides highly market-competitive compensation and benefits in each location where our employees work. This role is remote and the base pay range for a successful candidate is dependent on their permanent work location. Please review our Flex First remote work policy here. Currently, we are only hiring in the following provinces: Ontario, Alberta, British Columbia, and Nova Scotia.
