J Job Summary

The Senior Engineer – Applications & Proposals will be responsible for end‑to‑end techno‑commercial proposal development for Chemical Injection Packages, supplied to end users across the Middle East and India.

The role requires strong application engineering expertise, the ability to interpret customer specifications, and close collaboration with internal teams, suppliers, and customers to deliver competitive, compliant, and profitable proposals. This position plays a critical role in order acquisition, margin protection, and application excellence.

Responsibilities

• Review and interpret customer specifications, datasheets, and RFQs to define technical and commercial requirements.

• Perform equipment selection, sizing, and configuration of chemical injection packages, including pumps, instrumentation, piping, and accessories.

• Prepare complete techno‑commercial proposals, ensuring compliance with customer, project, and regional standards.

• Select appropriate Milton Roy / Ingersoll Rand products and models aligned with application requirements and commercial objectives.

• Liaise with approved suppliers and vendors to obtain pricing, delivery timelines, and technical clarifications.

• Develop accurate costing and pricing structures, considering supply to the Middle East & India market.

• Ensure proposals meet margin, risk, and delivery targets.

• Coordinate with Sales, Engineering, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, and Project Management teams to ensure proposal feasibility and execution readiness.

• Act as the technical interface with customers during the inquiry and clarification stages.

• Provide complete proposal documentation to Project Management, including:

• Pricing and delivery commitments

• Technical clarifications and deviations

• Preliminary design data

• Exceptions and assumptions

• Customer specification compliance matrix

• Conduct post‑order and post‑project reviews to identify causes of margin erosion.

• Act as the Voice of the Customer within the organization, ensuring customer requirements are understood and addressed throughout the proposal phase.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.

• 10+ years of experience in the manufacturing industry, with strong exposure to applications and proposal engineering.

• Proven experience with Chemical Injection Packages and positive displacement pumps.

• Application knowledge in Oil & Gas, Water Treatment, and Petrochemical industries, particularly for Middle East and India markets, is a strong advantage

Travel & Work Arrangements/Requirements

Travel may be required on a limited basis to support customer meetings, factory coordination, or project discussions.

Key Competencies

• Proven experience of applications and proposal engineering.

• Good negotiating and influencing capabilities at senior level are essential

• Proficient in MS Office and ability to learn the softwares/tools used at Ingersoll Rand which are essential for selection of the pumps and preparing the quotation.
