Short Description:

The DevOps Engineer with minimum 5+ years of experience. Has the ability to build / manage application environments, repositories and pipelines. Contributes to CICD processes.
Can accurately follow operational SOP/MOP procedures and identifies process gaps through on the job learning. Can advise on system health. Executes, maintains, creates and authorizes operational processes across the chapter and domain. Can guide others to address end to end process gaps while providing chapter and domain level support.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Collaborate seamlessly with multi-functional teams to gain a comprehensive understanding of DevOps principles and automation
• Develop scripts, tools, and apps for automating deployment processes including provisioning, monitoring, and upgrades
• Work closely with the Development team to ensure their needs are being met and that processes exist to support development processes
• Contribute to documentation of automation, scripts, and processes
• Stay up-to-date with industry trends, methodologies, and emerging technologies related to automation and DevOps
• Adhere to SDLC standard methodologies, including requirements analysis, design, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance.
• Collaborate on roadmap items by identifying areas that need improvement
• Work with multiple teams, actively participating in discussions and improvement plans

Essential:

• Tertiary Qualification in IT / Computer Science / related discipline.
• Experience: 7+ years of experience defining and setting development, testing, release, update, and support processes for DevOps operation.
• Experience in building tools and automation using Python
• Strong problem-solving skills.
• Familiarity with several of the following technologies/areas: Helm, Terraform, Infrastructure-as-a-Service, CI/CD, Kubernetes
• Experience working with geographically distributed teams
• Familiarity with DevOps practices

Skills:

• Experience working on Linux-based infrastructure
• Excellent understanding of Ruby, Python, Perl, and Java
• Configuration and managing databases such as MySQL, Mongo
• Excellent troubleshooting
• Working knowledge of various tools, open-source technologies, and cloud services
• Awareness of critical concepts in Dev

Ops and Agile principles:

• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred:

• Experience in working in teams on large and complex projects
• Excellent customer interfacing skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail and outstanding analytical and Problem-solving skills.
