This position is for Mild Steel drawing and cutting duties. This employee will be performing both the drawing and cutting functions for Mild Steel Operations. Drawing experience is a plus.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Provide a quality product while ensuring safety and meeting production standards.

• Operate safely and identify/correct unsafe situations.
• Follow work Instructions and process specifications for machine setup and production.
• Keep track of changeovers.
• Complete machine setup/changeover in a timely manner.
• Read micrometers.
• Perform routine quality checks/visual inspections
• Place nonconforming products on hold.
• Monitor wire rods cutting process to ensure production of quality product.
• Report maintenance issues as they arise.
• Communicate with PCs, Team Leads, Process Techs, Maintenance, etc.
• Perform housekeeping to meet expectations
• Operate a forklift

Qualifications

• Must be able to stand/walk for extended periods during a shift.
• Desire knowledge of wire drawing & cutting.
• Must be able to follow ISO 9000 work instructions.
• Must be able to understand Kanban.
• Must be able to meet and/or exceed specified production rates.
• Must be able to meet company expectations for quality, safety, and attendance.
• Must also possess excellent attitude and communication skills.
• Team participation is mandatory.
