Job Description: Division SummaryITW Residential Mechanical Fastening offers a broad range of professional grade tools and fasteners for numerous construction applications. Our products include structural wood fasteners (GRK Fasteners™), concrete anchoring systems (Tapcon®, Red Head®, Ramset®), underlayment screws (Backer-On Rock-On ®), self-drilling screws (Teks®) and drywall anchoring systems (E-Z Ancor®). Position Summary

The Packaging Team Lead is a hands‑on, working lead responsible for coordinating daily packaging activities during assigned shifts. This role supports the Packaging Supervisor by providing real‑time direction to team members, ensuring safe and efficient equipment operation, and maintaining production flow. The Team Lead regularly operates packaging equipment and serves as the first point of contact for day‑to‑day issues on the line.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and support packaging team activities to execute daily production plans established by the Packaging Supervisor.
  • Set up, operate, and monitor assembly and packaging equipment while meeting safety, quality, and efficiency standards.
  • Provide task‑level direction and on‑the‑job guidance to packaging operators during assigned shifts.
  • Monitor line performance and escalate equipment, quality, or staffing issues to the Supervisor as needed.
  • Perform basic troubleshooting and coordinate with Maintenance for unresolved equipment issues.
  • Train new and existing team members on standard work, equipment operation, and safety procedures.
  • Accurately record production data and communicate shift performance, issues, and handoffs to leadership.
  • Support the implementation of continuous improvement activities and standard work updates.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe packaging work area.
  • Perform other job‑related duties as assigned

Job Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • 3+ years of experience in packaging or manufacturing operations preferred.
  • Ability to set up and operate packaging or assembly equipment in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to work designated shift with occasional overtime; occasional Saturdays may be required.
  • Prior Team Lead or informal leadership experience strongly preferred.
  • Ability to model safe work behaviors and reinforce standard work in a fast‑paced production environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to perform basic math (adding and subtraction).
  • Basic computer skills (data entry, email, production systems).
  • Willingness to complete supplemental training as needed.

Work Environment:

While performing the duties of this position, the employee will be exposed to heat, dust, climate variances and moving mechanical equipment typically found in a distribution warehouse environment. The noise level in the work environment is moderate. Certain personal protective equipment is required when in the manufacturing areas. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. The employee must be able to be present and walk through an active construction site in various weather conditions. Be able to follow and use specific job site safety equipment and procedures. Must be able to handle various company products such as steel products, tools, and construction chemicals while following proper safety guidelines established by the company. Ability to hear safety noises in the facility as well. Specific vision abilities required by this job include Close vision, Distance vision, Peripheral vision, Depth perception and Ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to reach with hands and arms, talk and hear. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk; sit and use hands to finger, handle, or feel.

Hourly base salary for this position is $31.00. Please note that this salary information serves as a general guideline.
