Join us as a Machinist and play a pivotal role in elevating product excellence from the ground up. In this dynamic onsite position located in Lincolnshire, IL, you’ll operate computer-controlled machines to produce parts according to specifications. Essential Job Functions:

  • Load parts, and operate controls, setting offsets, simple edits, deburring and inspection of quality parts for conformance to requirements.
  • Study and interpret drawings, manuals, specifications or sample parts to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished work pieces, sequence of operations and setup requirements.
  • Detect equipment malfunctions or out of tolerance machining. Adjust machines as required to ensure quality of production.
  • Operate an overhead crane, and other lifting devices for movement of parts.
  • Communicate with supervisor, engineers, production and quality control for assignments and to resolve machining or quality issues.
  • Responsible for keeping equipment and work area clean and orderly and perform basic preventative maintenance functions on equipment.
  • Required to adhere and comply with state and federal law, the ISO Quality program and procedures, and the safety program.
  • Specific vision abilities required for this job include strong close vision to read micrometers, calipers, gauges, and fine markings on blueprints, as well as distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • High-level of experience running and programming Mazak vertical machining centers a strong understanding of programming using Mazatrol programming language required.
  • Experience in milling-type machining with a history of making prototype, R&D and one-off mill parts from a drawing to finished part required.
  • Complete knowledge and application of precision measuring instruments including but not limited to calipers, ID and OD micrometers, depth gages, indicators and scales.
  • Ability to read drawings and specifications with understanding of tolerancing and dimensions.
  • Knowledge of tool holders, cutting tools, boring bars, fixtures, inserts and other accessories used on various machines.
  • Must be able to operate an overhead crane and lifting devices for movement of parts.
  • Advanced math skills including adding, subtracting, multiplication, division, geometry and algebra.
  • Must be able to communicate in English, (both written and oral) as it relates to the job.
  • Must be able to adjust to a changing work environment, competing demands, frequent changes, delays and unexpected events.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and be resourceful.
  • Bending, squatting, climbing, standing is required as well as the ability to lift and/or move up to 40lbs.

Compensation Information

The base pay rate will depend on the successful candidate’s qualifications and prior experience. The range for this position is: $33.00 - $42.00 per hour.
