Chemical Technician

Description -Job Summary

  • This role is responsible for leading material and component analysis using standard chemical and laboratory instruments as well as overseeing complex equipment maintenance and repair. The role ensures precision in analytical equipment management and manages the laboratory's day-to-day operations. The role addresses quality assurance issues and collaborates to standardize global processes while adhering to established standards and executing business processes. The role also demonstrates problem-solving skills and operates with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

  • Leads the analysis of materials and components utilizing standard chemical and laboratory instrumentation for research & development, product development and manufacturing activities.

  • Troubleshoots errors, conducts complex equipment repairs, and performs meticulous preventive maintenance across a diverse range of machinery.

  • Manages and maintains analytical equipment with precision, generating detailed statistical reports for excursion management systems.

  • Takes ownership of addressing site-specific quality assurance issues, ensuring swift resolution through effective escalation to program and quality managers.

  • Manages the laboratory's day-to-day operations, overseeing supply orders, equipment maintenance, and a well-organized workspace.

  • Exemplifies a commitment to workplace safety, completing all mandatory trainings and adhering to rigorous safety guidelines within a controlled environment.

  • Aligns individual work with strategy, collaborates with teams to enhance operations and implement process improvements standardizing processes globally.

  • Adheres to established standards ensuring data confidentiality and supports execution of business processes with independent judgment.

  • Completes process-oriented assignments, shares technical information, and supports department-level operational plans.

  • Identifies and solves varied problems and completes day-to-day tasks with forward planning and minimal supervision.

  • Education & Experience Recommended

  • High School Diploma/General Education Diploma (GED)/Higher Secondary education or commensurate work experience or demonstrated competence.

  • Typically has 6-8 years of related work experience, preferably in operating analytical instruments/equipment, chemical laboratory procedures, or a related field.
