- Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering or Computer Science
- Solid experience with new product development, agency approvals or in an electrical/electronic testing laboratory
- Full lifecycle project management experience and the ability to provide understanding of key technical terms
- Strong problem-solving skills: prioritize, identify root causes & take corrective actions
- Experience with relevant certification agencies: UL/ULC, ETL, CSA, TUV, BRE, CNPP AFNOR, VDS, etc.
- Excellent communication & interpersonal skills

Key responsibilities
- Serve as a regulatory technical expert to ensure compliance for new and existing fire projects, providing focal support as needed.
- Mentor junior regulatory team members to enhance overall team skills and performance.
- Interpret regulatory standards and advise engineering teams on meeting product compliance requirements.
- Develop product approval strategies encompassing design, functionality, and documentation, while clarifying necessary document changes with the technical publication team.
- Prepare and coordinate testing plans, execute software and hardware tests, analyze performance gaps, and obtain approval results from relevant agencies.
- Maintain compliance with the latest standards, resolve compliance concerns, and expedite project execution by optimizing resources and ensuring effective communication between agencies and engineering teams.
