The Honeywell Software Centre develops state of the art networked building automation and digital video surveillance solutions that run on Microsoft platforms. Recognised as a leader in the development of innovative and quality software we use the latest development methodologies and tools and maintain a strong ongoing commitment to Quality Systems.
You will be part of a team of software engineers responsible for the development of our enterprise Video Management System known as Digital Video Manager (DVM). This product is exported worldwide through Honeywell’s global businesses.
This position is responsible for providing technical advice as a program leader in the identification and development of products.
Key Responsibilities:

Develop and maintain software architecture & design, ensuring that it is scalable, flexible, and reliable

Support Engineering leadership to structure engineering efforts
-
Work closely with other business functions (Product, Sales, Customer Experience) to drive overall performance and experience of the product
-
Estimate tasks and meet milestones and deadlines appropriately. Take ownership of all projects and assignments (individual and team) and drive to completion while reporting progress to management
-
Research new technologies to enhance Honeywell competitive position and profitability and formulate research and development programs to implement them.

Must clearly understand and explain mission, deadlines and expectations with software development team. Ensure technical decisions are effectively communicated to both stakeholders and technical staff. Explain complex matters in simple terms.

Responsible for providing technical expertise as a leader or member on a variety of projects and programs

Uses expert knowledge of engineering discipline and Honeywell standards, processes and tools to complete and ensure compliance with various projects.

Point of contact for external customers for overall product status, standards, etc.

Leads proposals to address future business opportunities, value engineering and program/process changes.

Acts as a key focal point for driving and implementing SBE goals and objectives

Recognized by business management as primary technical and/or product authority

Demonstrate significant business impact
Key Experience & Capabilities:
-
10+ years of experience in a Software Development Capacity
-
Extensive experience providing technical direction and leadership
-
Strong experience working with cross functional teams
-
Strong experience developing complex projects with challenging timelines
-
Experienced balancing short-term results with long term strategy
-
Deep understanding of Software Engineering concepts and technologies relevant to the business tech stack
-
Proven track record of design and development and implementation in with various facets of enterprise software including migration, scalability, flexibility/configuration, and performance
-
Strong communication and mentoring skills
