Responsibilities

• Contribute to the direction of the Hybrid and On-premises (On-prem) Infrastructure business by assisting in defining and delivering architecture and road-map initiatives.

• Work with peer engineers and managers within Google teams and external partners to influence product and team road-map.

• Support the team in maintaining and enhancing product, engineering, operational, and support excellence.

• Work with cross-functional teams to ensure the timely delivery of new product initiatives.

• Partner with internal cross-functional organizations and external vendors and partners to contribute to customer advocacy by understanding user needs and helping to deliver solutions that meet customer needs.

Minimum qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.

• 2 years of experience with software development or 1 year of experience with an advanced degree in an industry setting.

• 2 years of experience with developing large-scale infrastructure, distributed systems or networks, or experience with compute technologies, storage or hardware architecture.

Preferred qualifications

• Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical fields.

• 3 years of experience in software engineering, in a large-scale cloud environment with knowledge in building and operating Compute Infrastructure.

• Experience with building system skills, including low-level system software, Operating Systems (OS), firmware, low-level networking, or hardware.

• Experience with debugging, troubleshooting and diagnosing issues in distributed systems.

• Experience testing, maintaining, and launching software products or infrastructure.

• Experience with compute technologies.
