Responsibilities

Contribute to the direction of the Hybrid and On-premises (On-prem) Infrastructure business by assisting in defining and delivering architecture and road-map initiatives.

Work with peer engineers and managers within Google teams and external partners to influence product and team road-map.

Support the team in maintaining and enhancing product, engineering, operational, and support excellence.
-
Work with cross-functional teams to ensure the timely delivery of new product initiatives.
-
Partner with internal cross-functional organizations and external vendors and partners to contribute to customer advocacy by understanding user needs and helping to deliver solutions that meet customer needs.
Minimum qualifications
-
Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
-
2 years of experience with software development or 1 year of experience with an advanced degree in an industry setting.
-
2 years of experience with developing large-scale infrastructure, distributed systems or networks, or experience with compute technologies, storage or hardware architecture.
Preferred qualifications
-
Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical fields.
-
3 years of experience in software engineering, in a large-scale cloud environment with knowledge in building and operating Compute Infrastructure.

Experience with building system skills, including low-level system software, Operating Systems (OS), firmware, low-level networking, or hardware.

Experience with debugging, troubleshooting and diagnosing issues in distributed systems.
-
Experience testing, maintaining, and launching software products or infrastructure.
-
Experience with compute technologies.
