About the job
Commodity Managers work with Engineering teams to make sure Google has the supplies and equipment to put into production the innovative products coming from our Engineering teams. As a Commodity Manager, you use your wide industry knowledge and strategic supplier relationships to optimize our total cost of ownership for our global -- and growing -- infrastructure. The scale at which Google operates means that savings on just one piece of hardware can have a huge impact on Google's bottom line.
In this role, you will co-lead the strategic and technical sourcing and commercial management of key thermal products in liquid cooling and suppliers critical to Google's internal and public cloud infrastructure. You will partner with the Thermal Engineering teams to influence and create a resilient supply chain and secure optimal commercial outcomes from our most important suppliers. You will be instrumental in enabling Google's most advanced platforms and programs. You will be responsible for leading commodity strategies, strategic negotiations, managing contractual agreements, expanding the thermal ecosystem and managing supplier relationships. With your technical and commercial acumen, you will facilitate supplier solutions that enable the innovative products designed by Google's Engineers. You'll maintain a high level of industry expertise and supplier/market conditions, and manage supplier performance in cost, quality, delivery, and technology alignment. You will propose and implement supply chain improvements.
Behind everything our users see online is the architecture built by the Technical Infrastructure team to keep it running. From developing and maintaining our data centers to building the next generation of Google platforms, we make Google's product portfolio possible. We're proud to be our engineers' engineers and love voiding warranties by taking things apart so we can rebuild them. We keep our networks up and running, ensuring our users have the best and fastest experience possible.
The US base salary range for this full-time position is $174,000-$258,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process.
