About the Global Currency and Emerging Markets Business (GCEM): Our business plays a critical role for the firm in assisting our clients in managing their financial risk in the global currency market as well as local emerging markets. These markets are very sensitive to global events, which leads to an incredibly dynamic and interesting set of business activities and projects. GCEM is a key source of revenue for the Global Banking and Markets division, and for the firm in general.

Your Role and Responsibilities: As a developer in this team, you will have the opportunity to:

Develop software that

  • Enable our clients to transact electronically to increase the scale of our business.
  • Leverage GS AI tools to create insights and trend analysis for our salespeople and traders to find new opportunities.
  • Assist traders in managing their financial risk in real time.
  • Enable our business to create and trade new financial products.
  • Collaborate with business users, operational teams, and other engineering teams to develop innovative solutions and will be responsible for building and maintaining reliable and scalable systems.
  • Participate in the entire software development life cycle from gathering requirements, designing technical solutions, software implementation, testing, production release through to post-migration support.
  • Work both independently and collaboratively within teams, demonstrating the ability to deliver individually, while also supporting group initiatives to achieve shared goals.

What We Are Looking For:

  • Strong analytical skills and a passion for problem solving.
  • Strong programming skills in OO languages such as Java or Python.
  • Ability to quickly learn new languages and technologies.
  • Strong background in computer science, mathematics, and/or a related field.
  • Comfort with multi-tasking and is self-motivated.
  • Interest in learning about the financial industry.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Salary Range

The expected base salary for this New York, New York, United States-based position is $115000-$180000. In addition, you may be eligible for a discretionary bonus if you are an active employee as of fiscal year-end.
