Description The Role:
The Engineering Group

Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for developing, optimizing, and supporting manufacturing processes and automation in an assigned area. This role combines hands-on process engineering with controls and automation expertise to improve safety, quality, throughput, and cost, while providing technical guidance to a small group of employees and regularly collaborating with partners outside the work group.
What You'll Do (Responsibilities):

Analyze and implement product and machinery designs to determine the most effective manufacturing and automation methods.
- Propose, evaluate, and refine equipment and process solutions for the assigned area.
- Direct the design, development, and improvement of manufacturing processes to support safety, quality, and productivity goals.
- Maintain regular contact with cross-functional and external partners to align on plans, changes, and issue resolution.
- Provide technical direction and support to a small group of technical employees.
- Evaluate and monitor process and equipment expenditures, helping ensure sound investments and cost control.
Your Skills and Abilities (Required Qualifications):
- 3+ years of industry experience as a manufacturing engineer or in automation engineering.
- Strong technical knowledge in process engineering disciplines (e.g., process design, troubleshooting, optimization).
- Proven experience commissioning, programming, and maintaining industrial robots (e.g., material handling, welding, or assembly applications)
- Must be able to work on a rotating/flexible shift (1st, 2nd or 3rd), as well as overtime and weekends, as needed.
What Can Give You a Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications):
- Experience with GM Global Common Controls Architecture.
- Machine vision system experience (e.g., setup, programming, troubleshooting).
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or a related field, or equivalent robotics experience.
