Job Description Summary
The PLCCD Technical Publications Staff role is accountable for the successful planning, implementation, and delivery of the technical publications for our military and commercial engine manuals and the delivery of avionics and electrical power technical publications. Works with a variety of Product Support Engineers, Design Engineers, Supply Chain, and other functions to provide effective updates and new product creations driven by customer and Engineering requests. The position is fast paced and provides our customers with the ability to maintain their high-quality GE Aerospace engines and systems. The role requires strong negotiation and leadership skills as well as project management skills, collaboration skills, and customer and supplier engagement abilities. Responsible for regularly reviewing project deliverables and monitoring our supplier’s performance. Working knowledge of creating and maintaining Military and Commercial Technical Publications. Working knowledge of engineering drawings, design changes, and source data creation and implementation.Familiarity of HTML, XML, and SGML languages used in Technical Publications authoring. Manages program budgets. Identifies key organizational initiatives, i.e. quality, regulatory within GE and at suppliers. Leads strategic projects including AWO consultation. Process tracking, metrics tracking. Responsible for headcount and various other data collections that are used for ultimate decision making. Uses judgment to make decisions or solve moderately complex tasks or problems in areas of operational/product management, manufacturing, technology, or engineering. Takes new perspective on existing solutions. Uses technical experience and expertise for data analysis to support recommendations. Uses multiple internal and limited external sources outside of own function to arrive at decisions. Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience. Leads projects with moderate risks and resource requirements. Explains difficult or sensitive information; works to build consensus. Developing persuasion skills required to influence others on topics within field. Works closely with multiple suppliers to provide workscope while monitoring progress and quality.

- Has in-depth knowledge of best practices and how own area integrates with others; has working knowledge of competition and the factors that differentiate them in the market
- Uses judgment to make decisions or solve moderately complex tasks or problems in areas of operational/product management, manufacturing, technology or engineering. Takes new perspective on existing solutions. Uses technical experience and expertise for data analysis to support recommendations. Uses multiple internal and limited external sources outside of own function to arrive at decisions.

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited university or college (OR high school diploma/GED)
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in engineering operations/purchase services/tech pubs.
