Aero Service Technologies Italy is seeking an experienced Materials & Logistics Manager to join our team at the new developing facility located in Mesagne (BR), Italy. This pivotal leadership role is responsible for designing, directing and optimizing material procurement, warehouse management, logistics, and supply chain operations flow in alignment with the company’s Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost (SQDC) standards.
The Material and Logistics Manager will serve as a People Leader, driving strategic initiatives, developing high-performing teams, and collaborating closely with cross-functional stakeholders. The role also requires managing the complexities of operating with customs while ensuring full regulatory compliance and operational efficiency of inbound/outbound processes.

Job Description

People Leadership and Team Development

• Lead, mentor, and develop the material, logistics, and warehouse teams, fostering a culture of accountability, safety, quality and continuous improvement.

• Set clear objectives, conduct performance reviews, and support employee development and succession planning.

Compliance, Safety & Quality

• Lead by example promoting a strong safety and quality culture and ensure adherence to all health, safety, environmental, compliance and quality requirements.

• Assume the role of “Dirigente per la Sicurezza” and “Preposto” in accordance with Italian Legislative Decree 81/08 (D.Lgs. 81/08), with responsibility for implementing and ensuring compliance with all health and safety requirements

• Be responsible for EHS and the Quality matters for the line, promoting and leading continuous improvement following the general principles of the Safety Decree Law 81/08 and the standards of ISO 45001 and 14001

Warehouse & Logistics Management

• Design, oversee and optimize inbound and outbound logistics operations to ensure efficient movement of materials, components, and finished goods.

• Design and coordinate site‑wide warehouse and logistics flow design in collaboration with EHS, Operations and Lean teams.

• Lead all warehouse operations, including receiving, storage, picking, kitting, issuing, and dispatching of materials and components.

• Implement best practices in warehouse controls, cycle counting, material traceability, and inventory accuracy

• Implement advanced logistics solutions, systems, and technologies to enhance visibility, reliability, and cost efficiency.

• Design and manage inbound and outbound flows in accordance with custom regulations

• Monitor and report EHS, quality, delivery, cost KPIs and drive continuous improvement

Strategic Material Procurement

• Develop, implement, and continuously refine procurement strategies to ensure timely and cost-effective acquisition of materials and components.

• Lead supplier negotiations, contract management, and sourcing strategies to secure favorable commercial and operational outcomes.

Inventory Optimization

• Design and execute inventory management strategies to balance service levels and working capital objectives.

• Leverage data analytics and demand forecasting to optimize inventory levels and reduce excess or obsolete stock.

Cross-Functional Coordination

• Collaborate closely with production, planning, quality, engineering, and finance teams to align material and logistics activities with business and operational objectives.

• Lead cross-functional initiatives to improve end-to-end supply chain performance.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field; or equivalent experience

• A Master’s degree or professional certification (e.g., CSCP, CPL, or equivalent) is preferred.

• proven significant experience in material management, logistics, or supply chain roles within a manufacturing or service environment.

• Proven experience as a People Leader, managing and developing teams.

• Demonstrated experience in warehouse management and logistics operations.

• Strong leadership, strategic thinking, and stakeholder management skills.

• Fluency in English and Italian written and spoken

Desired Characteristics

• Previous experience in aeroderivative turbine operations or aerospace-related environments is highly desirable.

• Proven ability to design and implement effective material, warehouse, and logistics strategies at a senior level.

• Strong EHS, Quality and compliance mindset

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to present to senior management.

• Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a cross-functional and multicultural environment.
