The Role
The Director, Loan Operations role is a highly visible, dynamic position reporting to the VP, Loan Operations. This role offers the opportunity to lead a team and collaborate closely with our trading desk and business partners, with a specific focus on term loan and private credit settlements and administration. You will ensure operational excellence, mitigate risk, and drive efficiency in support of a growing private credit and syndicated loan business. You will play a critical role in supporting Fidelity’s private credit and syndicated loan business, ensuring accurate and timely settlements that enable trading desks to operate efficiently across global markets.
The Expertise and Skills You Bring

Oversee the end-to-end settlement and administration of term loans and private credit transactions, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.

Create routines to track team deliverables, balance workloads, and optimize staffing.

Liaise with key stakeholders across FFIO, Asset Management, and external counterparties to ensure alignment on initiatives and objectives.

Partner with global teams in Dublin and Hong Kong for seamless handoffs across time zones.

Collaborate with the VP, Trade Operations to define strategy and vision for private credit operations.

12+ years of middle office or loan operations experience, with a strong focus on term loans and private credit.

5+ years of management experience leading high-performing teams.

Bachelor’s degree required.

Expertise in term loan and private credit settlement and administration.

Strong understanding of industry platforms and utilities (Clear Par, WSO, Loan Serv, Markit).

Effective time management and prioritization skills.

Excellent communication and presentation skills.

Proven leadership in hiring, training, and motivating teams.

Ability to make decisions independently and manage risk effectively.

In-depth understanding of global middle office functions and investment operations.

Provide functional and technical expertise in loan operations and private credit administration.

Ensure compliance with regulatory and internal guidelines for all loan-related processes.

Represent the team in cross-functional initiatives and senior leadership presentations.

Drive continuous improvement and implement strategic changes to systems and processes.

Monitor KPIs and mitigate operational risk.

The Team
As part of Fidelity Fund and Investment Operations (FFIO), the Loan Operations team is responsible for the processing, confirmation, and settlement of syndicated loans, private credit transactions, and related instruments. This role requires deep knowledge of loan settlement workflows, including primary and secondary market transactions, and familiarity with industry utilities and tools such as Clear Par, WSO, Loan Serv, and Markit.

Most roles at Fidelity are Hybrid, requiring associates to work onsite every other week (all business days, M-F) in a Fidelity office. This does not apply to Remote or fully Onsite roles.
