Exxon Mobil’s affiliates in India
Exxon Mobil’s affiliates have offices in India in Bengaluru, Mumbai and the National Capital Region.
Exxon Mobil’s affiliates in India supporting the Product Solutions business engage in the marketing, sales and distribution of performance as well as specialty products across chemicals and lubricants businesses. The India planning teams are also embedded with global business units for business planning and analytics.
Exxon Mobil’s LNG affiliate in India supporting the upstream business provides consultant services for other Exxon Mobil upstream affiliates and conducts LNG market-development activities.

What role you will play in our team
Reporting within the Upstream Strategy and Business Development organization, you will have the opportunity to contribute your competitive intelligence expertise to a range of upstream businesses and projects. These may include strategies and specific commercial opportunities supporting exploration, existing operations, power development and other general Upstream opportunities. As an Upstream Competitive Intelligence Advisor you will be a key ambassador for strategy and competitive intelligence practices within the corporation. You will serve as a hub of information, combining technical and financial inputs to generate actionable insights that drive and influence major decisions.
What you will do
-
Distinguish key competitors and monitor developments to stay informed of market changes and ahead of potential competitor actions.

Synthesize intelligence from various sources to triangulate insights on industry trends, competitor strategies, and market dynamics or signposts.

Leverage analysis to then generate actionable insights that enable Upstream opportunities, spanning new projects, exploration, M&A, etc., consistent with long-term strategies and objectives.

Identify, develop, and maintain products and tools that improve dissemination of intelligence insights to broader organization.

Ensure consistency and completeness of approach, accuracy of findings, objectivity, and corporate general interest focus when producing intelligence content.

Contribute as member of an integrated business team responsible for owning competitive intelligence processes, tools, and resulting products. Requires cross functional collaboration and ability to identify impactful insights for opportunities.
About you
Skills and Qualifications
-
Bachelor’s degree in engineering or technology, preferably in Engineering, Business, Mathematics, Finance or a related field from a recognized university with minimum GPA of 6.5 and above.
-
Minimum 8 years of experience in Oil & Gas industry or related field, with strong preference for Upstream exeperiences.
-
Minimum 8 years of experience in secondary research, competitive intelligence, or consulting.
-
Experience as a lead or advisor for a portfolio of work, with clear ownership and responsibility for delivery of insights to senior decision makers.
Preferred Qualifications/ Experience:
-
Experience in financial, technical, commercial or business analysis roles including intelligence gathering, insight generation and distribution.

Exceptional research and analytical capabilities, with experience doing trend analysis and ability to identify potential future outcomes in an area of focus.

Strong technical background (Upstream O&G preferred), i.e., reservoir / geoscience / production / facilities / other engineering background

MBA or graduate technical degree from reputable university

Highly capable in cross-functional collaboration and in working with uncertainty under high-pressure situations
-
Confident, outgoing, and proactive with proven experience presenting complex situations to senior business leaders
