About this opportunity:

Dreaming about a summer that kickstarts your career? Unwrap your future with us! At Ericsson Estonia supply site, we’re giving you more than just a traineeship— we’re offering you a chance to dive into the business side of cutting-edge technology, work on projects that matter, and grow into the professional you want to be.

This Electrical Design Engineering Traineeship will develop your core electrical design skills such as design electrical systems (including enclosures and cabinets) for production test systems, automated machines (testers) and production lines, with nominal current up to 64 A. Design electrical cabling and wiring diagrams.

It is also an opportunity to become familiar with industry tools and processes—working with CADMATIC Electrical or AutoCAD Electrical, following NPI documentation and revision control, participating in design reviews. Perform the work for CE marking (European Safety marking) of the designed equipment (according to LVD or the electrical standard for MD). Along the way you'll strengthen soft skills including clear technical communication, cross functional collaboration, structured problem solving, professional documentation, and the ability to take and act on mentorship and feedback.

What you will do:

  • Assist in designing and updating circuit schematics, selecting components, and maintaining BOMs
  • Participate in prototype assembly, bench testing, troubleshooting, and documentation of results
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve design and production issues
  • Contribute to design reviews, implement feedback, and support compliance testing preparations
  • Maintain project documentation and follow NPI processes under guidance from senior engineers

Who We’re Looking For:

  • Students studying a degree in Electrical Engineering or similar
  • Basic understanding of electrical system design for machinery, including integration/specification of safety components for automated lines, and familiarity with applicable electrical standards.
  • Awareness of common electrical components to be able to assist with component selection and basic documentation (BOMs, schematics)
  • Familiarity with CADMATIC Electrical or AutoCAD Electrical is highly regarded
  • Curious, passionate individuals eager to bring fresh ideas, adapt to change and learn quickly
  • Candidates who are willing to take initiative, challenge themselves, and make a positive impact
  • High proficiency in English, both verbal and written

Why you will love it here:

  • Supportive, collaborative team – You’ll be surrounded by friendly colleagues who are always ready to help and share their knowledge.
  • Real development opportunities – From day one, you’ll learn new skills, get hands on experience, and grow in areas that matter for your career.
  • A culture that values curiosity – Ask questions, try new things, and explore ideas — we encourage it.
  • Opportunities to connect and feel part of the team – Team events, knowledge-sharing sessions, and chances to network across the organization.

How to apply:

  • Apply early — applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
  • Upload your CV (English version) and complete screening questions
  • Candidates who pass the screening will be invited to a virtual interview
  • Shortlisted applicants will be contacted for further assessment
