About the Role

The Head of Communications at e Bay Japan 合同会社 (Qoo10) is an exceptionally outstanding opportunity to lead and develop our communications strategy across Japan, Korea, and China. You will manage our communications team and ensure flawless execution of our corporate, marketing, and internal communications efforts. This role is based in Tokyo, where you will work closely to determine our communications priorities and successfully implement them.

We seek a great storyteller with proven experience in engaging business audiences, outstanding writing skills, and a positive relationship with Japan's media. You will need to manage PR media agencies and outlets effectively.

What You'll Accomplish:

• Planning and directing comprehensive communications strategies that align with our ambitious business goals.
• Team Leadership: Manage and mentor a world-class communications team, encouraging an inclusive and collaborative environment.
• Media Relations: Develop and maintain positive relationships with key media outlets in Japan to ensure positive coverage and engagement.
• Storytelling: Craft compelling narratives that highlight our business achievements and engage our collaborators.
• Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with other departments to ensure our communications efforts are aligned and support broader business initiatives.
• Performance Measurement: Define and track benchmarks to assess the efficiency of our communications strategies.

What You’ll Bring:

• 8 years of experience in communications, PR, or a related field, with a focus on Japan media.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to simplify complex ideas and connect them to broader business objectives.
• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, with a talent for storytelling.
• Proven ability to prioritize and drive alignment among senior collaborators.
• Experience in handling PR media agencies and outlets.
• A collaborative approach with a low-ego attitude and a passion for inclusion and success.
