Senior Principal Engineer – Solutions Architecture – DC Cabling

Join us as a Senior Principal Engineer – Solutions Architecture (DC Cabling), when customers need trusted expertise to build and scale modern data center and GenAI environments, they turn to Dell Technologies. In this role, you will lead the technical design and delivery of large‑scale cabling solutions that support high‑density, GPU‑accelerated architectures across multiple data halls.

What You’ll Achieve

You will define cabling standards, lead multi‑vendor program execution, and guide partners through the deployment of high‑performance copper, fiber and Infini Band infrastructures. Your leadership will directly influence the quality, scalability and success of Dell’s largest hyperscale and AI‑driven customer builds.

You Will:

  • Design and validate cabling architectures for large data center and GenAI environments.
  • Define structured and point‑to‑point cabling standards and produce cable matrices and installation documentation.
  • Lead complex cabling programs involving 20,000+ cables and multi‑phase build schedules.
  • Coordinate 24×7 partner operations, ensuring delivery quality, accuracy and adherence to timelines.
  • Oversee on‑site installation, quality checks, labeling and issue resolution across copper, fiber and Infini Band systems.
  • Establish cabling standards, templates and best practices for hyperscale deployment programs.
  • Act as Cabling SME in presales engagements, helping shape customer solutions and deployment approaches.
  • Compile accurate Bo Ms and ensure translation of design intent into executable plans.

Essential Requirements

  • Deep expertise in copper, fiber and Infini Band cabling systems.
  • Experience leading large‑scale deployments (10,000+ endpoints; GPU clusters of 5,000+ GPUs).
  • Strong program management skills across multi‑team, multi‑vendor environments.
  • Excellent communication and documentation abilities, including labeling and quality control.
  • Ability to manage 24×7 operations with shift rotations and partner coordination.
  • Willingness to travel across EMEA for onsite delivery leadership.

Desirable Requirements

  • Experience in hyperscale or enterprise data center environments.
  • Knowledge of TIA/EIA structured cabling standards.
  • PMP or equivalent certification.
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher
  • Dell Proven Professional Certification
