About the Role:
Crowd Strike is establishing a Fin Ops practice to drive sustainable cost management across our fourteen product groups and eleven platform groups. The Fin Ops Lead will serve as the strategic leader and primary champion of this practice, establishing vision, strategy, while ensuring cost efficiency continues beyond our FY27 Cost Reduction Program.
PLEASE NOTE: This role is hybrid, requiring 2-3 days per week on-site at one of the posted locations.
What You'll Do:
Strategic Leadership
-
Establish and champion the Fin Ops vision, strategy, across the engineering organization
-
Drive Fin Ops capability maturity across all Cloud Cost Management Framework pillars (Understand, Quantify, Optimize)
-
Serve as primary liaison between Engineering, Finance, and Executive Leadership on cost management initiatives
-
Participate in Infrastructure Foundations Program Management governance to ensure alignment with FY27 Cost Reduction Program
-
Report Fin Ops metrics, outcomes, and strategic recommendations to senior leadership
Organizational Coordination
-
Coordinate Fin Ops activities across fourteen product groups and eleven platform groups in our matrix organization
-
Facilitate allocation methodology discussions between platform and product groups
-
Ensure consistency in cost reporting and optimization approaches across all groups
-
Lead the Fin Ops Working Group with representatives from key product and platform groups
-
Build and maintain relationships with product group-specific program managers
Capability Development
-
Define and prioritize Fin Ops capability development roadmap aligned with organizational needs
-
Drive changes toward cost-conscious engineering across the entire organization
-
Establish Fin Ops governance structures, policies, and standards

Collaborate with Data Analytics Team on Tech Ops Analytics Data Solution Fin Ops requirements

Partner with Infrastructure Foundations PgM to ensure no duplication and clear handoffs
Team Leadership
-
Build, lead, and mentor the Fin Ops core team (Senior Fin Ops Analyst, Fin Ops Analyst, Fin Ops Engineer, Fin Ops Program Manager)

Manage Fin Ops budget and resource allocation
-
Establish regular cadences for team operations, stakeholder engagement, and executive reporting

Foster a collaborative environment that encourages innovation and continuous improvement
What You'll Need:
Required Qualifications
-
Fin Ops Certified Practitioner certification (or commitment to obtain within 90 days)
-
7+ years of experience in cloud cost management, engineering leadership, or related field
-
Deep understanding of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and their pricing models
-
Proven experience navigating complex matrix organizations and building cross-functional partnerships
-
Strong stakeholder management and communication skills with ability to influence at all organizational levels
-
Technical credibility with engineering teams and ability to understand infrastructure and application architectures
-
Experience establishing and maturing organizational practices or centers of excellence
Preferred Qualifications:
-
Fin Ops Certified Professional certification
-
Experience in cybersecurity or SaaS industry
-
Background in both engineering and finance/business functions
-
Experience with data center operations and hybrid cloud environments
-
Familiarity with commitment-based discount programs (Reserved Instances, Savings Plans, CUDs)
-
Track record of delivering measurable cost optimization results

Crowd Strike, Inc. is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. Placement within the pay range is dependent on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications, job level, supervisory status, and location. The base salary range for this position for all U.S. candidates is $140,000 - $215,000 per year, with eligibility for bonuses, equity grants and a comprehensive benefits package that includes health insurance, 401k and paid time off.
