About the role

Conti Tech continues to sharpen its industry focus and is undergoing a substantial transformation with the planned sale of the group sector. Hence, the Head of Group Tax Conti Tech is requested to set up and shape a dedicated, lean and stand-alone tax function for Conti Tech with strong support of Continental’s existing Group Function Tax and the Conti Tech Management Team. The position will be responsible for the comprehensive tax strategy and management of the company on a global level. It includes leading the domestic tax department as well as providing professional leadership and guidelines to international tax teams. The Head of Group Tax Conti Tech reports directly to the CFO and works closely with other departments and international teams to ensure a consistent and compliant tax policy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a global tax strategy to optimize the company’s tax position, in close coordination with business areas, in support of the company's strategic goals.
  • Oversee and manage transfer pricing strategies to ensure compliance with international regulations and minimize tax risks.
  • Take responsibility for tax accounting, including ensuring accurate recognition and reporting of tax positions in financial statements.
  • Identify and mitigate tax risks by implementing monitoring and control processes.
  • Ensure compliance with national and international tax regulations, including the management of VAT and other indirect taxes.
  • Promote international alignment and collaboration with tax teams in various countries to ensure consistent tax policies and practices.
  • Collaborate with legal, finance, and business operations teams to advise on the tax implications of new business initiatives and product launches.
  • Manage tax audits and disputes and interact with tax authorities.
  • Academic degree in Accounting, Finance, Tax, Law or a related field. A Master’s degree in Tax or Law is preferred
  • German tax advisor – Exam (“Steuerberater”) required
  • broad and extensiveof professional experience, thereof several years in a senior leadership tax position, ideally within a global industrial company with a billion sales volume
  • Deep knowledge of international tax regulations, strong understanding of GAAP/IFRS tax accounting, and proven experience in managing tax audits and relationships with tax authorities
  • Good communication skills in German and English (written and spoken)
  • Strong leadership knowledge in an intercultural team and project management skills, with the ability to influence at all levels
