We are seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Clean Energy Senior Specialist to evaluate business processes, identify operational risks, and drive efficiency through data-driven solutions. The role is ideal for a process thinker with strong statistical and research skills, excellent communication abilities, and a passion for continuous improvement.

Required Education/Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree and 3 years' work experience or
  • Master's Degree and 2 years' work experience

Core Responsibilities

  • Conduct structured risk discovery and assessment activities to identify, assess, and prioritize programmatic and operational risks across SCNY programs and select department initiatives by reviewing processes, procedures, documentation, financials, data flows, controls, and tools; identify potential failure points including fraud risk, data integrity issues, incentive calculation accuracy, process nonadherence, and control gaps across end-to-end program execution.
  • Design, implement, and continuously improve QAQC and evaluation methodologies aligned with EM&V best practices, including standardized test procedures, sampling strategies, checklists, key risk indicators, and data collection templates (manual or automated).
  • Analyze large, complex programmatic, financial, and operational datasets to perform QAQC reviews, risk assessments, and targeted evaluations; identify issues, anomalies, trends, and assess program performance, control effectiveness, and data integrity using quantitative and qualitative techniques.
  • Define and apply clear QAQC decision criteria, including pass/flag/fail thresholds, cure requirements, and standardized corrective actions, ensuring consistent, defensible, and repeatable outcomes across reviews.
  • Perform statistical sampling and quantitative analysis to design representative samples, analyze results, measure financial and operational impacts, identify trends, and assess program performance and data quality over time.
  • Develop and lead root cause analysis processes for QAQC findings, flags, and failures; determine underlying drivers of issues and collaborate with program teams to design effective and sustainable corrective and preventative actions.
  • Establish, document, and maintain standardized QAQC processes and SOPs, including end to end timelines, quality checkpoints, dependencies, handoffs, communication protocols, reporting expectations, and continuous refinement based on lessons learned and evolving requirements.
  • Design and conduct targeted internal studies and audit style evaluations (for internal use), including assessments of overall program performance, incentive calculation accuracy, data quality, energy consumption, and customer behavior.
  • Synthesize and communicate quantitative and qualitative QAQC, risk, and evaluation findings through written reports, executive ready presentations, dashboards, and data visualizations on recurring cadences (weekly, monthly, quarterly, annually), highlighting trends, risks, control effectiveness, and actionable recommendations for program teams, management, and department leadership, and represent the organization in internal and external forums as needed.
  • Collaborate cross functionally to integrate risk findings, controls and change initiatives into program design and operations, develop department-level risk frameworks, and ensure compliance with company and regulatory policies.
