The Country Industry Head is a senior management-level position responsible for managing and leading the Hong Kong Corporate Bank coverage team for top tier corporate and public sector team. The role will also manage some of our largest and most complex client relationships.
The Country Industry Head and the coverage team are responsible for: 1) identifying customer needs and deploy resources across Citi’s platforms and network to address those needs; 2) managing all credit, risk and control aspect of the relationships; 2) collaborating closely with partners in banking, products, risk and control, as well as with colleagues across Citi’s global network to deliver best-in-class solutions and services to our clients and our colleagues. The Country Industry Head is expected to act as trusted advisor to our clients by delivering thought leadership and strategic content.
**Responsibilities:
- Grow Citi’s top-tier corporate and public sector client portfolios with varying / complex financial and servicing needs with the objective of driving revenue growth and enhancing returns while maintaining sound risk and control in line with Citi’s standards, policies and procedures.
- Understand regional and emerging market trends to identify growth opportunities, anticipate obstacles and communicate a forward-looking vision that is responsive to changes in the environment.
- Translate Citi’s strategy into an effective and efficient Corporate Bank business plan and drive a healthy balance between near-term and long-term priorities. Drive client planning, product agnostic cross selling, client access, and effective capital allocation.
- Cross sell various products and solutions across the entire Citi platform, including Banking (loans, capital markets and other funding solutions), Markets (FX, rates, credits, commodities, structured solutions etc.), Treasury and Trade Solutions, Investor Services and others.
- Partner with key stakeholders, including Risk and Capital Management, to allocate capital prudently, appropriately and in adherence to all Citi policies. Ensure client relationships and proposed client solutions meet or exceed internal risk and return standards, including stringent ethical standards.
- Cultivate senior client relationships at C-Suite level.
- Drive innovation and speed to market and promote cross selling of products across the full Citi platform. Champion digital / tech value propositions in banking services with clients.
- Foster strong team and partnership culture via close engagement with department teams, senior management, partners in products, risk and control, and colleagues across the global Citi network.
- Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to policies, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency, as well as effectively supervise the activity of others and create accountability with those who fail to maintain these standards.
**Qualifications:
- 15+ years of relevant experience
- Experience in people management
- Robust credit risk management skill
- Demonstrated ability to balance between internal management and external client time
- Demonstrated understanding of compliance issues and regulatory requirements (global and local)
- Proven leadership skills and intellectual capability to create momentum and a collective agenda across multiple products with a diverse population and competing priorities
- Demonstrated intellectual grasp of the industry and ability to anticipate and lead the organizational response to future changes and translate vision into executable plans
- Proven analytical and problem-solving skills with pragmatic approach to ensure resources are directed appropriately
- Consistently demonstrate clear and concise written and verbal communication
**Education:
- Bachelor's degree/University degree or equivalent experience
- Master's/MBA degree preferred
