The Cardmember Access and Experiences team is responsible for designing and delivering experiences, perks and privileges for Citi cardmembers that differentiate Citi products and drive customer acquisition, engagement, and profitability.

The New Benefits Development Lead, Senior Vice President (SVP) will provide strategic leadership for the identification, evaluation, and development of innovative new benefits across Citi's US Consumer Cards portfolio. This role is critical in shaping the future of our customer offerings by leading cross functional teams to translate deep customer insights and market intelligence into actionable strategies. The SVP will drive the entire lifecycle from strategic visioning and pipeline development to executive sponsorship, advanced business case creation, and the establishment of high-impact strategic partnerships. This leader will ensure that all new benefit initiatives are aligned with overarching business objectives and contribute to customer loyalty, engagement, and portfolio growth. This role is part of the Cardmember Access and Experiences leadership team and will play a key role in shaping how Citi delivers differentiated benefits to cardmembers.

Responsibilities:

  • Identify and evaluate new benefit categories, platforms, and partnerships that enhance Citi cardmember value proposition.

  • Lead and oversee customer and market research, competitive analysis, and trend identification efforts to identify opportunities for new benefits and differentiated value propositions.

  • Drive business development and negotiation with potential and confirmed strategic partners, including startups, established brands, and technology firms, to secure impactful deals that enhance Citi's offerings.

  • Provide leadership and strategic oversight for business case development, financial projections, customer impact analyses, operational feasibility, and comprehensive risk mitigation strategies.

  • Oversee the end-to-end process of new benefit conceptualization, validation, and foundational structuring, ensuring a smooth transition post launch.

  • Act as a thought leader, staying ahead of industry disruptions, emerging technologies, and evolving consumer behaviors to continually refresh and advance Citi's benefits strategy.

  • Represent the business in internal and external forums, communicating the strategic direction and impact of new benefits development.

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of progressive experience in product development, business development, strategic partnerships, or management consulting, with a strong emphasis on financial services, loyalty programs, or consumer products.

  • Demonstrated experience in a leadership role

  • Extensive experience and proven success in engaging with and influencing internal senior leadership and executive-level external partners.

  • Exceptional executive-level communication, negotiation, and presentation skills, capable of articulating complex strategies to diverse audiences.

  • Deep expertise in strategic analysis, market intelligence, business case development, and deal structuring and execution.

  • Ability to operate strategically while also overseeing tactical execution, driving multiple high-impact projects simultaneously in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

  • Proven track record of innovation and delivering significant business growth through new product or benefit introductions.

  • Significant deal experience, including negotiation and structuring complex partnerships, is highly desirable.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s/University degree or equivalent experience

  • Masters / advanced degree preferred

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years related product sales experience.

  • Clear communication skills and the ability to represent the organization with the leaders of partner organizations. Knowledge of general banking operations and cross-sell opportunities.

$176,720.00 - $265,080.00
