Futures, Derivatives Clearing, Prime and OTC Bilateral Margining Senior Analyst is an intermediate level role responsible for managing collateral daily to protect the Firm from Counterparty risk of default. Our Counterparties include Hedge funds, Pension Funds, Banks, National Governments, and Insurance Companies et. On a daily basis we process high volumes of cash (in various currencies) and security movements to cover our exposures. Our role means we work closely with colleagues in Onboarding, Credit, Risk, Legal, Compliance, Products, Sales and Trading giving you the opportunity to interact on a global scale.
Organizational Oversight:
• Overseeing and leading daily core operations maintaining a culture and environment where processes, risks and controls are continually monitored, and potential risks escalated on a timely basis as well as acting as a senior point of escalation
• Developing an effective control framework that fully meets Audit, Compliance and Regulatory requirements; delivery of periodic presentations to external regulators as required
• Ensuring the infrastructure and tools are in place to effectively manage risk and service our clients to a high standard
Responsibilities:
• Ownership of all assigned counterparties
• Focus on High quality and accuracy of data input and verification
• Agreeing exposures with Counterparties utilizing cash, securities and re-pricing
• Coordinating, monitoring, booking and approving a high volume of collateral movements using Citi’s internal systems.
• Investigation and resolution of collateral breaks, disputes and queries.
• Timely completion of reconciliations and reporting processes.
• Assist management in identifying process or system enhancements
• Develop an understanding of Equity, Futures and Derivative products and system flows
• Help to create and build an environment of teamwork and encourage two-way communication across the unit.
• Provide training and direction to junior staff members on issues or processes where they require support and guidance
• Applies in-depth disciplinary knowledge to provide value-added perspectives or advice.
• Capable of making informed decisions in line with critical deadlines
• Contribute to the successful migration of processes or technical advancements into area of responsibility including drafting migration plans, test scripts etc
• Proactively champion Citi’s Ethical Culture and Responsible Behaviors practices.
• Help to create and build an environment of teamwork and encourage two-way communication across the unit.
• Be an ambassador for the Margin Utility team, raising the profile of the unit across the EMEA, NAM and APAC areas
Qualifications and Skills:
• BS/BA degree and equivalent work experience
• 5+ years of working experience in Tier 1 global financial institution preferably in a Collateral Management / Margin processing role
• Good understanding and experience in the Collateral Management / Margin processes and products including but not limited to Equities, Futures, Listed/Centrally cleared derivatives, OTC derivatives, FX and Commodities and their associated legal documentation
• Possess good knowledge of using third party Collateral Management / Portfolio reconciliation / Settlement Processing tools - Acadia, TriResolve, Alert, etc. to facilitate margining process.
• Energetic, flexible, collaborative, and proactive; a leader who can positively and productively add product impact to both strategic and tactical technology
• Strong, influential communicator who is articulate and concise
• Strong risk management and control mindset
• Provides evaluative judgment based on analysis of factual information in complicated, unique and dynamic situations; draws on diverse range of internal and external sources
• Self-reliant, good problem solver, results oriented
• Ability to establish and build trust with professionals throughout the business as a leader, advisor and business partner to the organization with a clear client orientation.
• Strong awareness of both external and internal best practice perspectives, maintaining a balanced and fresh viewpoint.
• Ability to conceptualize aspects of the organization’s model and its future development.
• Displays a well-developed ability to schedule work and understand relative priorities
