The Rates e Trading team is responsible for Citi’s electronic connectivity and distribution platform, enabling our Rates business to keep its market-leading position. Having a platform that provides exceptional and dependable trading experience is crucial for the bank.

We are looking for a talented and passionate developer to continue to evolve our next-generation trading applications. The role requires a detailed understanding of software design/best practices along with a strong technical ability. This is a challenging and exciting opportunity to work on high profile trading applications. The team works closely with end users gaining direct exposure to the fast-paced world of front office trading and finance.

What We do / The Team

Rates Technology is responsible for delivering state of the art technology solutions to the Global Rates business. Initiatives includes deliveries across sales, risk, pricing, algorithmic trading, execution, trade processing, and much more.

Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

We are seeking an accomplished lead, to drive critical projects aligned to our client franchise for Fixed Income in EMEA.

This pivotal role demands a visionary leader with a deep domain background, proven leadership capabilities, and a track record of delivering complex, high-impact solutions in a fast-paced financial services environment.

  • The role will be leading and line management of senior developers across EMEA, facing off to multiple stakeholders, whilst providing additional regional leadership across the broader e Trading organization.
  • Responsible for execution against hiring plan, filling all critical roles per planned timeline
  • Budget/planning of e Trading tech team resources based on agreed allocation (BD, BM, REG, Engineering)
  • Global stakeholder responsibility for FI Etrading business face-off
  • EMEA business stakeholder responsibility for FI e Trading Tech delivery
  • Supporting/influencing role in ensuring re-architectural projects are appropriately scoped and protected in terms of resourcing
  • Oversight of EMEA team ensuring that delivery commitments are met and delivery optimised by leveraging the global team
  • Allocation of mandatory work within global team, ensuring efficient and re-usable delivery

What you will bring:

  • Proven leadership and domain expertise within the fixed Income electronic trading business
  • Proven understanding of e Trading development practices
  • Ability to develop a team that is seen as the engineering role model for the organization
  • Ability to work directly with trading and quant teams
  • Proven track record of building new systems, replacing legacy systems and renovating existing systems
  • Demonstrable success in designing and delivering multi-tiered applications
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver large projects efficiently and on time
  • The candidate will have a strong systems (software, hardware, networks) knowledge required to define solutions and trouble shoot issues
  • Exceptional communicator who loves working with people, confident communicating at all levels from an individual team to the entire enterprise
  • Awareness of industry trends and leveraging new technologies as appropriate
  • Experience in collaborating and influencing cross-functional teams
