Within its modern Routing SD-WAN Group, the SDWAN Manager team builds powerful, scalable platforms that help enterprises seamlessly manage, secure, and optimize their networks from edge to cloud. Now, Cisco is seeking a versatile Full Stack Software Engineer to develop high-impact features across modern web applications and Java-based backend systems—playing a key role in delivering intelligent, AI-powered solutions that enhance network performance, automation, and user experience at scale.

Your impact

As a member of our team, you’ll help shape and build scalable, reliable, and innovative solutions that power real-world impact.

• Build & Scale Core Systems:

Design and develop high-performance Java backend services and APIs powering real-time network operations and large-scale deployments.

• Create Dynamic User Experiences:

Develop modern, responsive frontend applications (React/Angular) for network transparency, policy control, and diagnostics.

• Modernize Architecture:

Transform legacy monolithic systems into modular, cloud-ready, and scalable solutions.

• Optimize Performance & Reliability:

Enhance APIs, data flows, and distributed system interactions while solving production issues and improving system stability.

• Collaborate & Innovate with AI:

Work multi-functionally to deliver quality features and leverage AI tools (Copilot/Codex) to boost productivity, testing, and debugging efficiency.

Minimum qualifications:

You’re an ideal candidate if you bring 8+ years of full-stack development experience, along with a degree in Computer Science (BE/BTech/MS/MCA or equivalent) or relevant practical experience—we value a diverse set of backgrounds and career paths.

• Good experience with Java and Spring/Spring Boot, building scalable, reliable APIs that support real-world, high-impact applications.

• Proficiency in frontend technologies such as React or Angular, with a passion for creating accessible, intuitive, and user-friendly experiences.

• Ability to debug production issues, resolve API failures, and optimize system performance in complex environments.

• Proven understanding of distributed systems, including data flows, service dependencies, and system interactions.

• E xperience designing and consuming reliable REST APIs,along with using AI-powered tools (e.g., Copilot, Codex) to improve productivity and drive innovation.

Preferred qualifications (Optional Skills)

• Exposure to networking domains, especially network management systems.

• Familiarity with cloud-native architectures and public cloud platforms.

• Understanding of CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and modern quality practices.

• Experience with Python or scripting for automation and tooling.
