Role Summary
The Senior Analyst – NPE provides operational and execution support for non-production mainframe environments. This role focuses on routine batch operations, monitoring, and incident handling, with guidance from Lead Analysts and Advisors.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform daily batch monitoring, job restarts, and abend analysis
- Execute DB2 data refreshes and backup activities for non-production environments
- Handle JCL modifications and basic overrides
- Monitor CPU, SPOOL, DASD, and storage usage
- Support CICS monitoring and file management
- Execute manual and ad-hoc jobs as per request
- Assist with VSAM and Non-VSAM dataset creation
- Support CA7 scheduling activities
- Perform application checkouts and environment validation
- Provide L1/L2 incident support following defined SOPs
- Escalate complex issues to Lead Analyst or Advisor
- Maintain operational documentation and checklists
- Examples of Daily Activities
- Monitoring batch jobs and fixing standard abends
- Running scheduled and ad-hoc refresh jobs
- Basic DB2 and SQL troubleshooting
- Handling JCL changes and reruns
- Monitoring system health dashboards
- Supporting service requests and incidents
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science / IT or equivalent experience
- 5 to 7 years of experience with mainframe technologies
- Working knowledge of z/OS, JCL, DB2, CICS, VSAM
- Basic experience with CA7 scheduler
- Understanding of incident and change management processes
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to work well in a team environment
- Preferred Skills
- Exposure to healthcare systems
- Knowledge of SQL and Teradata basics
- Familiarity with monitoring tools and dashboards
- Interest in automation and learning advanced mainframe skills
