About the role

ROLE SUMMARY

APi International, the parent of Chubb Fire & Security - a 200-year-old global leader in fire detection, suppression, and security systems - is hiring a Corporate Development Director to own the full M&A lifecycle from deal sourcing through post-close performance. Reporting directly to the VP of Corporate Development, you will serve as a key strategic advisor to executive leadership, driving inorganic growth across a business that protects some of the world's most critical infrastructure. This is a high-visibility role with direct access to C-suite decision-making and meaningful influence over how one of the most established names in fire & security continues to grow globally.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Own the acquisition pipeline - build and maintain a high-quality deal pipeline aligned to APi International's strategic growth priorities, partnering directly with senior business leaders to define target markets, sectors, and acquisition criteria.
  • Lead end-to-end M&A execution - drive all transaction phases from origination and valuation through deal structuring, LOI negotiation, definitive purchase agreement, and close.
  • Direct cross-functional due diligence - program-manage all workstreams (Finance, Tax, Legal, HR, Safety, Treasury) from kickoff through final reporting; escalate key risks, synthesize findings, and ensure a clean handoff to the integration team.
  • Build and manage external advisor relationships - oversee investment banks, legal counsel, and brokers to ensure efficient transaction execution and access to high-quality deal flow.
  • Monitor post-close performance - track acquisition results against underwriting assumptions, manage contingent consideration, and translate performance data into sharper future investment decisions.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

  • 8+ years in M&A, corporate development, investment banking, private equity, or transaction advisory
  • Demonstrated track record of end-to-end deal execution - sourcing, valuation, structuring, due diligence, negotiation, and close
  • Advanced financial modeling and valuation skills (DCF, LBO, comparable company analysis, precedent transactions)
  • Experience leading cross-functional due diligence workstreams and managing external advisors
  • Proven ability to negotiate LOIs and purchase agreements directly with sellers and their counsel
  • Strong executive presence - able to influence and advise at C-suite and Board level
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or Business

WHAT WE CAN OFFER YOU

  • Competitive compensation relevant to your experience
  • Hybrid working model
  • 25 days holiday plus bank holidays
  • Company vehicle or car allowance
  • Private Medical Insurance
  • Company Pension Scheme
  • Life Assurance (4 x basic salary)
  • Employee Scholarship Scheme
  • Access to a central benefits platform with a wide range of discounts
  • Health and wellbeing resources
  • Bravo Awards recognising outstanding contributions
  • Continuous training and development opportunities

What makes this role different:

  • Scale and legacy - Chubb Fire & Security has operated for over 200 years and serves clients ranging from independent businesses to the majority of the FTSE 100. You are joining a business with genuine market depth, not a start-up narrative.
  • Strategic influence - You will advise senior leadership directly, with your deal recommendations shaping how APi International deploys capital globally.
  • Growth trajectory - Within 12–24 months, a high performer in this role is positioned to take on broader leadership of the Corp Dev function, with potential to build and manage a team as the deal volume scales.

Deadline for applications: May 10th
