Your opportunity

At Schwab, you're empowered to make an impact on your career. Here, innovative thought meets creative problem solving, helping us "challenge the status quo" and transform the finance industry together.

We believe in the importance of in-office collaboration and fully intend for the selected candidate for this role to work on site in the specified location(s).

Schwab Advisor Services is seeking an experienced, collaborative, and adaptable Senior User Experience Researcher who is passionate about understanding user needs and pain points. In this role, you will help shape the future of our industry-leading enterprise platform that supports independent Registered Investment Advisors (RIAs) in scaling efficiently, competing confidently, and responding to increasingly complex client needs. You will work closely with multi-disciplinary UX and Product teams to scale our research practice, uncover insights about our users, and ensure that their motivations, needs, and behaviors drive product design decisions.

  • Help teams identify opportunities, define research priorities and goals, and select the appropriate research methodologies.
  • Lead targeted and end-to-end research efforts in support of discovery, evaluation, and optimization efforts.
  • Translate research findings into clear and compelling narratives and actionable insights to create alignment and guide product strategies.
  • Empower cross-functional teams to conduct high-quality, independent research.
  • Develop and scale research with best practices, frameworks, and methodological toolkits to enable organizational adoption.
  • Streamline recruitment, develop participant panels, and oversee participant governance.
  • Maintain strategic partnerships with Digital Adoption, Marketing, and Support teams and align user data into cohesive customer journeys.
  • Pilot AI-enabled solutions to streamline operational tasks and scale analysis.
  • Elevate research quality-define best practices, ensure methodological rigor, and support others in developing UX Research knowledge and skills.
  • Support multiple product teams simultaneously, manage shifting priorities with autonomy and initiative.
  • Collaborate with Product and UX leadership and cross-functional teams to ensure generative and evaluative research is embedded throughout the product design process.
  • Share research findings and insights to help drive decision-making, recognizing that great products are achieved iteratively, within scope and budget, emphasizing progress over perfection.
  • Raise potential roadblocks to leadership and collaborate to remove blockers or find alternate paths forward.
  • Maintain the high standards set by the group, including channel standards, content standards and the Schwab Advisor Services design system

Why your work matters:

  • You will support an engaged set of users who rely on our products to manage their businesses and their clients' financial lives.
  • By understanding user needs you will be able to impact how our users do business with Schwab.
  • You will learn how to balance functionality against complexity on a highly visible platform which serves millions of advisors and retail customers.
  • You will work with an engaged product design team that fosters a learning environment.

What you have Required Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience in UX, CX, or Service Design Research
  • A strong command of mixed methods across the full product design lifecycle.
  • Experience in enterprise or large-scale, B2B environments
  • Experience supporting both long-term strategy development and detailed design execution.
  • Exceptional communication and storytelling skills, able to turn complex findings into clear, persuasive narratives for diverse audiences.
  • Proven ability to build relationships and influence design, product, and technology partners.
  • Strong self-management skills, comfortable with working directly with our partners.
  • Proven track record of navigating complex situations and projects successfully
  • Comfort in a project-oriented work environment, with a positive attitude and solid work ethic.
